Spacious luxury lodge with spectacular sea views from the site and direct access to south West Coastal Path. Adjacent to Berry Head National Nature Reserve.

One of the best positions on the peaceful perimeter of pretty Landscove Holiday Village. Within walking distance of Brixham harbour and all its quaint pubs, shops and restaurants.

This spacious top of the range lodge (not to be confused with the much smaller static caravans or chalets) is fully central heated and double glazed. Two bedrooms;- sleep 4, with one double and one bedroom with twin single beds. There is a double bed settee in the lounge. Both bedrooms have en-suite bath/shower rooms with powerful showers and instant 24 hr hot water, and both have walk in wardrobes.

The large sociable open plan large lounge/diner/kitchen is ideal for entertaining, with feature floor to ceiling twin patio doors leading to decked balcony area with sea and country views.

The contemporary kitchen is fully fitted with dishwasher, double range oven and American fridge freezer and even a separate wine cooler. There is separate utility room with washer -dryer and plenty of storage.

The jewel in the crown is direct access onto famous South West Coastal path. To right to the South, towards Dartmouth and beyond; a series of jagged headlands as far as you can see with hardly a sign of human civilisation. This is one of the wildest and most dramatic of the entire coastal path. Turn left onto the path, to the North, and another adventure awaits. First stop Berry Head Nature Reserve for breakfast at the Guardhouse café, or on to The Berryhead Hotel for a cream tea in the cliff edge garden, before walking past the outdoor lido into the bustling harbour of Brixham.

Or perhaps you decide to cast your eyes downwards, past the rare wildflowers of this unusual limestone peninsula, to see fulmars, gannets and other sea birds soaring far below the cliff on which you stand. Porpoises are regular visitors at low tide, and this spring a Humpback Whale. The funny little guillemots have chosen these cliffs as their biggest nesting site on the south coast. You must visit in June to find out why their colony is called a ‘loonery’, or their chicks are called ‘jumplings’.

Landscove Holiday Village is situated on the edge of the limestone promentary of Berry Head which is one of the only limestone grassland habitats in the UK and as such is an important wildlife conservation site. Many small flowers found here are exceptionally rare and the abundant wildlife creates the natural paradise you find yourself in right now. Enjoy!

Hi there, We know you will love our amazing lodge - and perfect location. So easy - I'd like to say 'home from home', but most guests say it is even nicer than their homes!! There is so much to see and do in Devon - award winning beaches, quintessential villages, thatched Inns, boat trips, gorgeous market towns, artizan communities, live music and country festivals. Far too much to list but we like; - Pennywell Farm - miniature pig cuddling, Dartmoor - wild ponies, Totnes - quirky town with Artizan residents, Berry Pomeroy Castle, Darmouth -a boat ride in your car or steam train from Paignton adds to the trip, Broadsands - sandy Beach & beach huts. Live music at Blue Anchor pub in Brixham , Shopping, restaurants,Cathedral in Exeter.

I am deeply saddened that you feel you were not listened to. It has taken me a while to respond to this review as i was so upset by it. I am at a loss as to what else i could have done, as i replied instantly to your email, acted promptly, professionally and apologetically. Check-in was 4pm. By 4.20pm i had received an email from you stating there was a food mark on a cupboard and food had been left in the freezer (the 'food' turned out to be an icepack!!) I replied straight away. I was shocked as it sounded horrendous and is not how i want the lodge to be presented. i apologised and said i would of course immediately contact the professional cleaning company i use who are based locally, to rectify anything you weren't happy with. It was actually the lovely married couple, who are owners of the company, who came round personally to see you and offer to re-clean anything you were concerned about. No-one has ever complained about cleanliness of the lodge and it is referred to as spotless in reviews. On their arrival the only thing you could point out was a small food mark on top of a drawer edge and the item in the freezer. They wiped the drawer and removed the icepack and asked if there was anything else that they could help with, to which you stated "No" and that you had "already cleaned everything else" in the 10 minutes before they arrived !!!!.... I really take pride in my beautiful lodge and care about my guests having a fabulous holiday, with many returning year after year and all leaving fabulous reviews. Driftwood Lodge is one of the few Platinum lodges on site, and is cared for professionally. My numerous excellent reviews show this. After the cleaners had left, you continued to complain throughout the week ......and asked for money or you would leave a bad review to which i said that anything they needed help with would always be rectified but no money would be given. The cleaners actually took dated photographs of the mess you left on check out and so i did not need to 'take sides', i could see for myself. I did mention this to you after you continued to threaten to leave a bad review if i did not give you money. I would like to reassure anyone looking at the review above that it is not justified, but i think most people will be able to read between the lines! Irana (Owner)
