From the owner

Rowden Mill Station is set in the rolling countryside of Herefordshire, around half and hour from Ludlow, Worcester and the M5.

Externally the site includes authentic detail from Great Western Railway days. The restoration recreates the look of the station during the 1950s and features original platform lights, signboards and posters of the period.

Meticulously renovated, the interiors are converted to an exacting standard for practical living and feature modern conveniences including a fully fitted kitchen _ in the former 'Booking Office', a double bedroom with feature period fireplace, a second bedroom (The Porters' Room) with adult-size bunk beds, and a Victorian-style bathroom which is flooded with natural light via a lantern (includes a bath with shower over, wash basin and vanity unit, a flush-down toilet and bidet, and a heated towel rail).

The station's lounge in the former 'Waiting Room', with tall sash windows and double doors leading to the station platform is a comfortable sitting area complete with a wood-burning stove, sofas and armchairs. The lounge also has a TV and DVD player along with a collection of films. On the bookcase, guests will find local maps and information as well as our small library of books, including those related to the history of the station.

The station is centrally heated while the wood burning stove in the lounge supplements warmth in winter and provides extra comfort in those chilly nights.

Kindling and wood are provided.

The canopy over the station platform is the perfect outdoor space to enjoy this atmospheric place, with fantastic long-distance views over rolling countryside.

Hampers of delicious local produce can be delivered to the station.

For parties of above 4 in number we also offer the very comfortable Parcel Office, a studio for a couple that also works well as an annexe for a larger group of friends and family in CONJUNCTION WITH the main station building.

If you want to secure the hiring of both buildings - sleeping 6 - PLEASE BOOK BOTH LISTINGS separately ( see our TripAdvisor LISTING for Rowden Mill Station - Parcel Office - sleeps 2)

As a disused railway no trains pass by, however the site does include 300+ metres of track. We provide an initial guest safety briefing, however as a renovated railway station, Rowden Mill Station does have platform edges and other obvious trip hazards which guests should be aware of. Parents must take full responsibility for the supervision of their children during their stay.

We like to be good neighbours so ask our guests to be considerate in respect to late night noise. We do not allow amplified music outside.

As a self-catering venue, we expect guests to leave the property reasonably clean and tidy with recycling, rubbish and ashes cleared away appropriately. Guests are requested to clean the BBQ after use.

We keep our charges to a minimum, but would request a deduction from the security deposit if the property is left in an unreasonable condition and we needed to bring in additional help to make the station ready again between guests.

Unfortunately, Rowden Mill Station can not accommodate pets.

Smoking is not allowed at Rowden Mill Station.

There is a contact list in case of emergencies.

The station is equipped with smoke and CO2 alarms, fire extinguishers and a first aid kit.
