We are happy to offer a comfortable two bedroomed apartment, in the heart of Antigua situated within a beautiful tropical garden, in a quiet residential area.

The apartment is centrally located and within reach by car of all the beaches.

The pool is available exclusively for apartment guests. Nearest beach Pigeon Point is 8 Miles/20 mins by car.

On your arrival at VC Bird International Airport, we will be at arrivals to welcome you and will whisk you back to Jonora in our very comfortable Range Rover Vogue within 20 minutes where you can then unpack and familiarise yourselves with all that Jonora has to offer and then relax with a cold drink from the welcome pack in your apartment, by the pool.

The welcome pack contains cold drinks ready in the fridge, and fresh local bread as well as a bottle of red wine, a bottle of chilled white wine, and some cold beers as well as soft drinks. We also include tea bags, coffee and milk for that all important cup of tea or

We also include tea bags, coffee and milk for that all important cup of tea or coffee in the morning. If there is something specific that you would like us to have in for your arrival we will endeavour to supply this subject to availability on the island.

The apartment has a dishwasher for which we provide dishwasher tablets, and there is also a microwave oven for light snacks and a toaster and fastboil kettle. The fridge produces ice and has a water dispenser which offers chilled triple filtered water from our own supply and is perfectly safe to drink. We try to maintain the water supply to a high standard but it should be borne in mind that the water comes from our roof and you may instead choose to have bottled water which is always available island wide.

If you require groceries or provisions to be ordered ahead to save a supermarket trip we can arrange this. Let us know what you would require and these can be waiting for you in addition to the basic welcome pack we provide. Payment for this would be payable on arrival at the apartment.

The stove has 4 gas burners, and a full sized American oven.

The main living area has two futon sofas which convert to UK sized double beds although we do not recommend their use as double beds, and that they should be used to accommodate only two persons in the lounge area. Both these beds would be situated under ceiling fans, which assists with comfortable sleeping. We would be unable to accept a booking for more than 6 people on this basis. We also have a cot (with mosquito net) and highchair available for those guests with very small children. There is also a Smart TV with local and USA channels.

The bedroom of the main apartment area has a ceiling fan which can be switched on to circulate air during sleep. There is also air conditioning, to keep the temperature at a comfortable level required but ceiling fans are very effective. This room accommodates two people on either two 3ft 6" twin beds setup side by side, with a small gap between, or they can be secured together to make a very large 7 ft bed. The choice is yours. Either way the two separate mattresses enable a restless sleeper to avoid disturbing a lighter sleeper through their tossing and turning. Let us know when booking how you would like the beds to be made up.

The poolside bedroom sleeps 2 and is also air-conditioned with its own en suite bathroom. There is a floor standing fan to assist with air movement. As with the main apartment bedroom there are also twin beds of the same size and the beds can be set up as you wish. This room has double french doors which open out directly on to the poolside area if required.

Jonora sits within a large tropical garden with palms, mango trees, lime trees and beautiful flowering pink and white bougainvillea. Humming birds can be seen, as well as lizards and turtle doves among many. There is a grassed area which is maintained and the pool is cleaned twice weekly.

The pool is 3ft to 6ft deep and exclusively for the use of apartment guests. We feel this makes our holiday apartment unique and offers total privacy and enjoyment. Free Wifi is also included.

As with other Caribbean islands, there can sometimes be power outages which can be inconvenient. At Jonora we have a generator installed which kicks in automatically if the power from the grid fails. So no worries about not being able to use the fans or AC. The noise from the generator can be noticeable, however we feel this is a minor inconvenience when compared to the loss of all power.

Buckleys

Buckleys is in the centre of Antigua and is largely residential. Being up on the hill gives the property amazing views but also privacy and quiet relaxation. English Harbour is a 20 minute drive away with all the shops and sailing atmosphere in season to entertain. St Johns is a 15 min car ride away and the islands largest supermarket is also within easy reach.

There is an info folder in the apartment with lots of detail about places to see and restaurants for dining out.

Getting around

We can advise on days out, trips and points of interest. Our Range Rover plus driver is available for a daily charge depending on your requirements. Car hire is available but using this service allows you to save money on the days you spend lazing by the pool when your hire car would not be used. We therefore would say that although a car is necessary you do not need to hire your own if you wish to take advantage of our Car and Driver service. Beach Drop off and Pick up starts at $55US and can include an optional picnic lunch at $10US per person. Tours and visits to local attractions also available. Prices to be advised depending on your requirements. Evening Restaurant drop off $55US.

Interaction with guest

As we live on site we are available if needed but will not encroach on your privacy. Our wish is for you to have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. If you find you have any queries we can be contacted easily.

Check out is when you leave for the airport. For this reason we only accept incoming guests the day after the previous guests have left. This allows your last day to be as relaxed as possible because you do not have to be out of the apartment early.
