This region of Tuscany, known for its extraordinary beauty, world-renowned wines, and rich artistic heritage, encompasses parts of the province of Florence, the entire province of Siena, and portions of the province of Arezzo. It lives up to its well-deserved reputation and offers a quintessential Tuscan experience. Its rolling landscapes, adorned with endless rows of cypress trees, majestic castles, and quaint medieval villages nestled among olive groves, create an idyllic backdrop rooted in history, tracing its origins to the Via Francigena, an ancient pilgrimage route connecting Rome to northern Italy and beyond.

Tuscany's exceptional wine and cheese production thrive here, with renowned varieties such as Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti, Super Tuscans, and the exquisite pecorino Toscano cheese of Pienza. Notably, the nearby Bagno Vignoni hot springs in San Quirico offer a unique medieval spa experience centered around a stunning "water square." This region has also played a significant role in art history, being home to Vasari, the illustrious artist responsible for the design of the Uffizi Gallery as it stands today, and serving as the enchanting backdrop for Roberto Benigni's Oscar-winning film "Life Is Beautiful."

In every way, Arezzo and its surrounding valley rank among the top three must-visit destinations in Tuscany. All of the iconic attractions that Tuscany is celebrated for are conveniently located in this extraordinary area.

Blessed with beauty, wine and an unparalleled artistic legacy, this area of Tuscany that covers partially the province of Florence, the entire one of Siena and some of the county of Arezzo, is an area that lives largely up to its fame and deserves it: its fabled rolling landscape has long been considered the embodiment of rural chic, a favorite of foodies and wine lovers, while its cities harbour a significant slice of the worlds Renaissance art. The area is famous for its hills outlined by endless rows of cypress trees, majestic castles, thermal spa towns, tiny medieval villages surrounded by olive groves: this is an idyllic valley with gorgeous emerald green and a medieval past originating from the Via Francigena, a pilgrimage road that connected Rome to northern Italy and beyond.
