Featuring 2 Bedrooms among a World Heritage listed rainforest and a mountain-top with quick access to the whole of Far North Queensland.

The set up of two king rooms your own bathroom private entry and the kitchen that overlooks the beautiful mountains.

The Homestead is a comfortable space, on a 2-acre property.

Sitting amongst the open greenery, the tropical rainforest is at your doorstep. It is just a few short minutes drive to the main terminal to access The Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rainforest and Kuranda Skyrail. The world famous Paronella Park and Cape Tribulation are also only a few short kilometres away, not to mention all the beautiful islands you can visit.

Your accommodation at The Homestead features panoramic views of the escarpment and gorgeous visiting Ulysses butterflies. Situated on a large and open block with undisturbed and dry heath flora, the peaceful tranquil setting of The Homestead is perfect for a relaxing couple’s hideaway. Its spacious open area provides an affordable holiday for those with pets or alternatively, families have the opportunity to explore and play outdoors.

Within a 2 minute walk from the property, watch turtles swim under the bridge in an open flowing creek and go for a walk or a bike ride (we supply bikes for you). Explore the rainforest, sugar cane fields, creeks, swimming holes and waterfalls. Play a game of tennis on the public courts or push the little ones on the swings at the children park,then grab an ice cream or go for a swim.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS:

SLEEPS UP TO 5 GUESTS. Step out onto your deck and you are immediately greeted by the mountainous view and spacious green fields. Inside, wake up facing these gorgeous sights, or close the blinds and relax in private. We also provide Netflix and Spotify so you can sit back, listen to your favourite tracks and watch butterflies float by. From the bedroom step through into your own ensuite where you can shower while watching the treetops sway, listen to kookaburras laugh or watch the sunset.

We like to introduce ourseleves to you and assist with any help for tours or local info.We meet you, show you the property and make sure your stay is just as you had expected. Whilst we do live on the premises we are not always on the property- if your looking for a hotel resort.. that is not what we offer- your accommodation is private to the family residence. We have 20 years of experience living here in Cairns and are more than willing to tell you the best places to have brunch, which trips to the reef are the most fun or how to find local waterfalls without having to drive more than 10 minutes! While you stay with us in Cairns we want you to feel like a local and experience Cairns in a way that only a few of us truly know how.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mary (the owner) a message.

If Mary (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
