From the owner

The apartment, which is located on the 2nd floor has been completely renovated in 2017 and completely repainted in 2023, consists of 3 bedrooms (in total 1 double bed and 4 single beds, all beds being long [200 cm] and with mattresses of excellent quality), two bathrooms with toilet (one with a bath tub and the other with a walk-in shower), living room, open fully equipped kitchen. In the apartment there is TV with a big number of channels. The Wi-Fi is through a private router (optic fibre with a very good speed).

The apartment has a large shaded terrace with a beautiful view of the sea and the swimming pools. The building has three swimming pools: on the outside a very large swimming pool and a paddling pool for children, and inside a heated swimming pool with spa (closed from May to October). The access to the building and its garden/pools is protected and reserved for the occupiers.

It is possible to book a parking space (extra charge).

Right in front of the building there is a long and wide sandy beach (Le Fossa / Levante) with very clean sea water ("Blue Flag"). A wide sea promenade runs along this beach.

Calpe is a charming little town with a very lively centre. Among the attractions are the "Peñón de Ifach" (possibility of walking / climbing, bird watching), the beautiful sandy beaches and the very clean sea water, water sports, the theme park for children, the large number of restaurants, cafes, shops, fishing and yachting port, old town centre etc.

Please note that during the season the arrival will be after 5 pm and departure before 10 am. Outside the season, schedules are more flexible, and arrival will often be earlier. The agency that manages arrivals and departures closes at 8 pm from June to September and at 6 pm from October to May. In general arrivals cannot take place on Sundays or public holidays.

A damage deposit (250 €) is to be paid upon arrival. It will be refunded a couple of days after the stay provided that there has been no damage to the apartment.

Final cleaning is always included in the price.

Thank you for this feed-back. And most of all thank you for being very fair in your comments despite your frustration. I really appreciate this! It is a pity that we had this issue after your stay. As I am living far away from Calpe I have to rely on the people in the local agency, and they are indeed very reliable people. I don't know what happened exactly but this was the very first time in four years (and more than 40 rentals) that the state of the apartment after a stay was considered an issue by the agency. I understand however that you had a different view on this. If despite this issue you would like to rent our apartment another time, I would be happy to welcome you back.

Thank you for the comments. On your two last points I understand your disappointment. It actually happens from time to time that renovation works take place in other apartments in the building. It is impossible to know in advance when and where this will be the case. The problems with the heated swimming pool come as a surprise to me. I have just asked the building's administrator about this. And they tell me that due to technical problems the indoor pool was in fact closed for twenty days. I truly regret that this coincided with your stay. I do hope that despite these problems you enjoyed your stay in our apartment.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Erik (the owner) a message.

If Erik (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
