Villa Chandra (Balinese - "Moon") can be something very special. By Candi Dasa in Bali's pristine east coast this villa looks out on mountains, rivers, rice paddies, Hindu Temples and the 200 meter stone's throw azure blue ocean of the Lombok Straights. Sleeping 2 couples with two very individual bedroom experiences. Both of the four poster king-size beds has a spotless white muslin woven canopy netting and are made of elegantly carved teak offering pure hand crafted privacy and solid luxury. Included in your price is greeting drink, complimentary coffee and tea in the rooms, full breakfast of your choice for all your party.

The enclosed ground floor A/C bedroom contrasts in every respect with the open upstairs accommodation featuring pure Balinese unobstructed clear views down to the assure Indian Ocean over blinding emerald green rice fields bounding the exotic Hindu Temple Puri Mastima.

The room's second floor height assures one of the best views on Bali and makes it a wonderfully private nest hidden up in the tops of the surrounding coconut and fig palms. It is open to the nature with roll down bamboo drapes and may be best described as "glamping".

The villa is fully catered and our chef will prepare all your meals (breakfast included in the price) all other meals to chose 'a la carte' from a menu.

The kitchen is NOT available for the private use of the guests.

There is a car available with driver. Pick up and delivery from and to the airport in Denpasar or to any other destination in Bali can be arranged for the extra charge of local transportation fees (taxi/driver).

Tours are also offered with car/driver to the given tour prices of the area

All in all, there is so much to do and see in and around Villa Chandra ranging from massages (reflexology to full-body) including day fishing trips with the local fishermen, private yoga and tai chi lessons and many, many things in between that we have produced several brochures to help our guests plan their stay in advance. A second brochure covers a range of Island tours with pricing, distances and short descriptions of the tours and the Balinese drivers that we have cleared to work with our guests for their English abilities and knowledge. Both of these brochures are only available after you have booked and your email address is accessible to us. Villa Chandra is a very special and unique base to enjoy your Balinese experience from and we feel that we have succeeded in including as much of the world famous Balinese flair and style into it's construction and layout as we possibly could and at the same time fully embracing a maximum on western ideals of comfort and convenience. Our trained, gentle and loyal Balinese staff who have all been with us for many years will do everything in their power to assure that your stay with us is a happy, tranquil, adventurous and memorable one. As owners and caretakers of this small piece of paradise along with the neighbouring Villa Surya we try to use our extensive local knowledge to assist our guests in getting the most out of their short time here and help make their holiday truly the experience of a lifetime.

Should your group be larger it is also possible to book our neighbouring Villa Surya - both villas together offer a total bed space of maximum of 9 persons please just ask.

Bertrand thank you for your lovely and truthful review for Villa Chandra and I hope that many will read it and understand better what the villa is all about. It was never meant to be about "luxury" - softer beds, creamier soap, colder drinks, painfully respectful staff, etc. (although we have all that too) but more about the Bali you see and feel when you look out your window or walk out your door. We feel that is what people travel half way around the world to experience - that other stuff is everywhere.

We were at a complete loss as to how to deal with these guests who were supposedly seasoned travelers (writes travel reviews for the damned New York Times!!)and live in Cambodia (not very different from Bali?) but came to us with some serious pre-existing health issues and no medicines or travel health insurance for the husband or small children/infants. With allergies to flowers (!?) and fruit we tried but were unable to find them specific medicine they then demanded repayment of their money making it clear we would regret it if we didn't cough up. I am also seriously allergic to blackmail and consequently advised this guest to not let the door hit her as she was leaving and I was also not willing to make a loss on a booking that we could have made to many other happy guests just because they were unable or unwilling to bring medicines for a pre-existing condition that had nothing to do with Villa Chandra, Bali or us. Please let this be a lesson to all our future guests: make sure you buy a decent travel insurance covering all medical bills and any cancellation costs you may have. Volcanoes, typhoons and flowers happen!

How do damage deposits work?

If John (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
