From the owner

La Maison Des Vignes (The House of Vines) sits in the heart of the lovely village of Tourouzelle, in the sunny Languedoc Roussillon area of the South of France.

One of three gites we have available (all with air conditioning), this gite, Gite Olivier, sleeps 4-6 people and has three bathrooms, 3 bedrooms and a private terrace with gas barbeque. There is also a heated swimming pool in the landscaped, walled gardens.

Situated in the Minervois and bordering the Corbiere wine regions, this former vigneron estate dates back to the 1600s and is built in the traditional stone typical of the region. The architect-designed, renovated barn conversions have created 3 spacious gites which have all the character of the old stone walls, high ceilings and original wooden beams, combined with all the comforts and mod cons that will make your stay here all the more pleasurable. Whether you wish to soak up the sunshine by the pool or the beach, enjoy the fabulous food and wine of the area, play golf, cycle or walk, you are sure to discover your joie de vivre at La Maison Des Vignes.

Access to Gite Olivier is via it's own secluded gardens, which also leads directly to the pool area. To the front of the gite is a large terrace that is set up for outdoor dining and has a sturdy table and chairs and gas barbeque. From the terrace you enter the spacious (36m²) lounge, dining and kitchen area which has wooden floors, high vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and original exposed stone wall. There is a comfortable sofa and seating area, TV, an indoor dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Leading from the lounge is:

Bedroom one (12m²), which has a comfortable king-size bed and wardrobe. French windows lead from bedroom one onto the terrace. The en-suite bathroom has a powerful shower, WC and basin. Bedroom two (12m²) is also accessed via the lounge and has a king-size bed (the room can be made up with 2 single beds, if preferred), chest of drawers and wardrobe. There is also an adjacent bathroom, with a jacuzzi bath, powerful shower, WC and basin.

Within the garden there is a separate courtyard annex containing a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The courtyard bedroom has a king-size bed (the room can be made up with 2 single beds, if preferred), chest of drawers and wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom has a powerful shower, WC and basin. Lightweight bathrobes are also provided for guest use.

Interaction with guest

We live on site but away from the gites, hence we are always available to make the most of your stay. We usually hold a weekly, complementary, informal evening to welcome you to your new 'home from home'. This is usually held from 6 to 8 pm near the start of your stay and we will let you know exactly when this will be when you arrive. As well as sampling wines from some of the Tourouzelle wine producers, you will also have the chance to try some of the local produce. The evening will also give you the opportunity to meet any other guests and for you to ask any questions and gain further information on any activities that you are interested in to make your stay all the more enjoyable.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jonathan (the owner) a message.

If Jonathan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
