From the owner

Glen-river is a large two bedroom static caravan (size 35ft by 12ft) which sleeps 4+2 and is ideally situated in a peaceful location at the top of the Glen.

It is an excellent place to stay for couples, small families, hill walkers, bird watchers and wildlife watchers as it is at the foot of Heaval (the highest hill on Barra). Many birds and a variety of flowers can be seen around Glen-river.

The caravan is half a mile from the ferry terminal, shops, café, bars, restaurants, the bank and Kisimul Castle. It is 2.5 miles from the nearest beach and 7.5 miles from Barra Airport.

The accommodation comprises of an open plan well appointed lounge, dining area and kitchen fully equipped with a fridge with freezer compartment, gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, cooking utensils, crockery and pots. There is electric heating throughout the caravan.

It has a large double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and a twin bedroom with a fitted wardrobe. All bed linen, towels and a hairdryer are provided.

The bathroom is spacious and comprises a WC, electric shower, and wash hand basin.

A decking area is situated adjacent to the caravan with a table and chairs for sitting outside.

Laundry facilities, an iron and ironing board and an inside storage area for bicycles and wet gear is provided. There is a large area for parking beside the caravan. Available from April to November for £300 – 400 per week.

Glen River caravan was great! Catherine and Iain are super hosts who go out of their way to assist. I would recommend to anybody visiting Barra - which is a mini Scottish paradise.

Why can't I call Catherine (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Catherine (the owner) a message.

If Catherine (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
