The England region

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Catlowdy

The historic village of Canonbie lies just over the border into Scotland, close to the town of Gretna. Canonbie lies on the River Esk, renowned for its salmon and sea trout fishing, and was immortalised in Walter Scott's poem 'Marmion' chronicling the exploits of Young Lochinvar. The area offers a quiet and relaxing atmosphere with attractive coastal landscapes, rural walking and fishing.
