In a landmark setting on the eastern banks of the River Ouse stands the 14th-century, Grade I listed Lendal Tower. After a careful, sympathetic renovation, Lendal Tower now gives you the opportunity to encounter a unique medieval living experience with a welcoming level of contemporary comfort.

Sleeping up to 6 people Lendal Tower is a truly unique place to stay on your next visit to the City of York. The interior décor is as unique as the property and it’s clear that every effort has been made to preserve Lendal Tower’s historic character. There’s ornate, original wood panelling and decorative ceiling plasterwork.

The ground floor has a large living room and dining hall with double doors to an enclosed garden. Two steps up takes you to a superbly appointed kitchen with range, gas hob, electric oven and limestone flooring. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with toilet.

A spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine double bedroom with TV/DVD and up to the first floor double bedroom with TV/DVD, dressing room and en-suite bathroom.

The second floor houses a further double bedroom with 5ft four-poster bed, TV/DVD and en-suite bathroom with luxurious copper roll top bath and toilet. Both the first and second floor bedrooms offer amazing dual-aspect river views.

Climb a little higher and you’ll reach the large roof terrace* which offers incredible views of the city’s many highlights: the stunning York Minster, historical Lendal and King’s Bridges, the River Ouse, and the bustling 21st-century city that flourishes in the shadow of its ancient walls.

Return to Lendal Tower and guests have the privilege of relaxing in the tranquil setting of their own private riverside garden with a secluded patio area.

The nearest shops, restaurants and pubs are only 30 yards away.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send the property manager a message.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
