FULLY REFURBISHED IN 2016. A 3 bedroom city centre townhouse sleeping up to 8 people, furnished and equipped to a high standard. Located just a few minutes walk from all major visitor attractions, shops, restaurants, bars etc. Ideal for families.
Built in 1851, this character townhouse is a perfect base for visiting York, the North Yorkshire Moors National Park or the Yorkshire Coast.
York Minster is in view from the house, which is just 5 minutes walk from the famous city walls. The house has 3 large bedrooms and will sleep 3 couples comfortably, or a group of 8 friends or family.
Lounge - Large corner sofa, fireplace and 32" HD TV.
Dining room - Dining table to hold 6 or 8-10 when extended.
Kitchen - New fitted kitchen; full size dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer.
Garden - Patio doors open to walled lawned back garden, with patio and large picnic bench, and brick built BBQ. We do not allow hot tubs to be hired or brought to the townhouse.
Bedroom 1 - Ensuite, upto 4 persons - King sized bed with 2000 pocket sprung mattress. Plus adult sized bunk beds.
En suite bathroom - cast iron roll top bath, shower and toilet.
Bedroom 2 - King sized bed with 1800 pocket sprung mattress.
Bathroom 2 - Shower, toilet and sink.
Bedroom 3 - 2 x single beds. Skylight views to York Minster,
Free unrestricted and unlimited car parking for vehicles is just 150 yards away.

The townhouse is set in a residential area and so I require reassurances from the group leader that everyone will respect the house and the neighbours, by keeping noise levels down late in the evening.
CAR PARKING - cars can be parked outside the house whilst you are unloading your car, but must then be moved outside the residents zone which is only 100m from the townhouse. The parking here is free and plentiful.

Well I couldn't fault the house. Lovely space great rooms in a good location 10 minutes walk in to York centre. Please be aware that there are 3 deep steps down in to the bathroom from the on suite bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped and the garden a lovely bonus. Unfortunately there was miscommunication on our arrival that spoilt the start of our stay. It was the first holiday for my son and his new wife after their wedding a few days earlier. They had come from Canada to visit family and get married and I had asked if we could get in earlier explaining this but we didn't get in any earlier. We were not greeted due to the owner being unable to come as his car was in the garage. There was no key for access and we had to wait for the cleaner to let us in. We arrived at 3pm the cleaner arrived at half past 3 when letting us in we were told the house hadn't been cleaned from the previous tenants and we ended up sitting around till it was cleaned this was done eventually by 5pm. What a shame because the house was lovely but it did spoil the fact that we expected a lovely start to the holiday after their wedding which is why I told the owner that they would be newly married when we arrived so everything would be perfect. At least the cleaner gave them a bottle of bubbly as an apology and congratulations!!!
“Lovely House, Excellent location”
We used this property for a two night three day stay and would definitely recommend. Owner met us on site to explain the details of the property in full and what was available in the local area which was ideal for us. House was a great size for 8 of us, at no point did we feel we were on top of each other and it has everything that you could require. I would recommend and use again if I was staying in the area.
We stayed in the property with a party of 6 adults and 2 young babies (both under one) and we couldn't have asked for a better stay the house was great and in great location we parked the cars and didn't need to use them again really lovely property in quiet area can't fault it at all loved and can't wait to book another short break soon.

Can't fault house, everything was perfect, Richard was very approachable and informative. We had no reason to contact the owner when we arrived but he was very approachable and would not have hesitated contacting him if need be.
“Great rental, fantastic location”
We stayed here with another family (so four kids aged 6-9 years) and would highly recommend the house. Sufficient space for us all, with good communal areas (lounge / dining room / kitchen). Having a garden was great for the kids (and us!). Very good location - 5 minutes walk to a huge Sainsbury's and 10 mins to the city walls. Highly recommend.
Fantastically refurbished Victorian townhouse literally 10 minutes walk from York city centre. Visited with family for short break, two boys aged 13 & 9. House met all our expectations and is accurately described by the owner. The kitchen, dining room and sitting room were our particular favourites. High standard of cleanliness also. Had the privilege of meeting the owner Richard and as others have said he imparted some great tips for our short stay in York, and thanks also Richard for the mini heatwave during our stay. All in all fantastic value for money that you will be hard pushed to match. Highly recommended.
