Cerbere is a charming Catalan seaside village neighbouring on glamorous & cultural sites such as Banyuls Sur Mer, Colliure in France and Cadaques in Spain. It offers all amenities: Train & bus station, supermarkets, baker & newsagent, postoffice, doctor, pharmacies, shops, cafés and restaurants. The walk down from the house to a gravel beach with crystal clear is 10 minutes - if you fancy more adventurous choices, the coastline boasts countless pirate coves and offers excellent scuba diving. Cerbere is part of France's oldest marine reserve and it's "sentier sous-marin" ist world-famous.Also, there are numerous hikes to be done directly from the house in varying length and difficulty - from 5 hours to a week in the mountains! Cyclists from all over the world brave the mountain passes and the Corniche road which leads into the Pyrenees! Cerbere is friendly, lively and original, people dance on the village square on Friday night, everybody knows everyone and it is very welcoming, laid-back and friendly.
Only a short drive away are the Museums of Figuears and Port Llegat, which show Salvadors Dalis life & work. Dali loved the intensity of the Catalan white light, blinding and enhancing in the same time! Colliure attracted Picasso and Manet as well as Gaugin and today is a lively and glamorous port of call - it's Fort, Museums and Restaurants are well worth a visit. Fort St. Elme between Port Vendres and Colliure is a fantastic wind-swept fortress with an impressive collection of weapons. Elne boasts medival quarters and an imposing cathedral, while St. Cyprien attracts with it's Museum of resident Impressionists and vast expanses of sandy beaches.
Further afield lies the fortress city of Carcassonne, surrounded by the splendid ruins of the Cathar castels, a christian sect who was pursued and killed in the medival times.
The house itself is freshly renovated and boasts 3 properly seperated bedrooms, one with en suite facilities the other 2 share a bathroom. The Masterbedroom on the 1st floor offers Ocean views and a four-poster bed, the childrens bedroom opposite is furnished with a solid bunkbed, which also takes adult's weight, and a cot. On the groundfloor is a third bedroom, called "the african room" with a Queen-size double bed. Furthermore, there is a modern kitchen and dining space as well as a beautiful livingroom with Tv & DVD and STUNNING views over the Med. In the back of Villa Cap Cerbere lies a shady and sheltered from the wind Patio & Veranda.
