“Relaxing Holiday”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2019

The Gite is immaculate and credit to the owners. It is well equipped for a family of four. The house is cosy and very comfortable. There is an outside dining area and terrace. It is ideally located to explore the area with the main towns ie. Saumur, Thoures within easy driving distance. There are many markets in the area, with those at Saumur and Thoures worth a visit. Further afield there are the historic towns of Angers and Tours. Angie and Nigel are very welcoming and can't do enough for you and even organised a 'wine tasting' at the local vineyard. Our dog Niko enjoyed his stay and especially playing with their dog, Ruby. We will definitely return.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and very much look forward to your next visit.

“A fantastic gite in gorgeous countryside”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2018

The gite was a welcome surprise - very new pretty interior and well appointed it had everything we needed to self cater. It was spacious and beautifully decorated and thought out and amazingly clean. The owners are very nice and on hand when you need anything but you also feel like you are the only ones in the area as it was such a peaceful property. We just visited Serrant Chateau which was an hours drive and a beautiful place to visit but there are loads of chateaus to visit nearby, wine tasting can be arranged locally and there are some lovely villages of character to wander around or some larger towns such as Saumur, Thouars or Angers if you want a little more life. A big plus for me was that this gite had English and French TV and the internet so that when you did want to chill out the choice was there. I would thoroughly recommend it and will be coming back I am sure!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for such a wonderful review, Kelly and Fudge. Hope to see you again soon.

“Fabulous gite near Thouars”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2014

This gite is newly and beautifully renovated with ample living space and fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday in the French countryside. There is a big garden with furniture and a barbecue. The English owners are resident next door and are very helpful with anything you need. The property is next door to a vineyard where tastings can be arranged. Eating out locally is very inexpensive - at a local bar/restaurant we had four courses, a bottle of wine and water for 11 euros each, all lovely home-cooked rustic French food. The nearest small town with a small supermarket and fabulous bakery is a couple of miles away - worth the trip for the bread alone. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.
