The Space:
La Casita de Don Roberto is a 2 bedroom house off the beaten track between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. It is situated right in front of the jungle and 12 minutes walking from one of the best beaches in the Riviera Maya: Xcacel (a virgin beach with a cenote that is a turtles sanctuary). Crystal clear water and a white sandy beach, the perfect beach for snorkeling, swimming and relaxing. On your way back you can swim in the fresh water cenote (underground lake) 100 meters away from the house! There is also a bigger cenote less than a mile away in the middle of the jungle.
We have high speed wifi, full kitchen, a back patio, 1 double bed and 2 twin beds (linen and towels are provided)
Guest Access:
You have full access to the house and the back patio, except for a little closet that is locked with a key.
Once the reservation is made, will give you instructions on how to get in the house :)
Interaction with Guests:
We do not live on the property, but the neighbor next door (Tio Charlie) will welcome you and most likely become your favorite person in Mexico :)
The Neighborhood:
La Casita de Don Roberto is in Chan Chemuyil, a quiet, charming, colorfull international community of 220 single family homes located between Akumal and Tulum. It is walking distance from the village of Chemuyil, a local and authentic Mexican village where you will find restaurants and patio bistros that serve delicious and cheap meals, small markets and a full laundry service.
Our unique location gives you the opportunity to have a more authentic travel experience.
Getting Around:
You will be within walking distance to the Pueblo of Chemuyil (15 minute walk) and Xcacel Beach (12 minute walk) Note: you must cross a highway with a wide median in the center to get to the beach.
It is great located for easy access to Mayan ruins like Tulum and Coba, to the Sian Kaan Biosphere, Eco-parks (Xcaret, Xplor, Xel-Ha) and other great trips like exploring Cozumel, great snorkeling, spectacular white sand beaches, cool jungle cenotes...
If you plan to visit the Mayan ruins and do a lot of sightseeing, or have small children, renting a car at Cancun Airport will be your best option (highly recommended!).
Public transportation is easily available just around the corner on the main street: The "colectivos" (small public buses), go by readily between 6am and midnight. After hours, you can get a taxi from Akumal (10min) or Tulum (15min).
Airport transportation can be arranged by private transfer, or by public transport/ADO bus. Parking is provided in front of the house.
