Description from owner

The maisonette is in the village of Chorafakia (or Horafakia), on the beautiful Akrotiri peninsula in Western Crete. It situated about 20 minute drive from the historic Venetian city of Chania, also known as 'little Venice' and a 15 minute drive from the airport.

It is set within The Palms a small, secluded development of just 5 houses. Set in fully landscaped gardens, it shares a large swimming pool and has private parking. The house enjoys wonderful sea and mountain views and is only minutes away from superb golden sandy beaches.

The ground floor has an open plan living area and kitchen with direct access to the patio and swimming pool. It has 2 bedrooms upstairs both sharing a large tiled shower room and has a lovely spacious balcony overlooking the sea and Stavros mountains. The main bedroom has access to the balcony and a double bed. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and access to the balcony. Each bedroom has built in wardrobes with hangers. We also provide everyday useful equipment such as a hairdryer, airer, iron and ironing board, all kitchenware etc. The house is fitted with a solar panel ensuring hot water at all times, air conditioning in all rooms, insect screens, washing machine, and a fully equipped kitchen. The house has free WiFi internet and satellite TV.

Outside there is a covered terrace with dining area, a large 60m2 shared swimming pool, shower and BBQ surrounded by grassed lawns and garden areas.

Towels including beach towels are provided

We also provide a welcome pack on your arrival including wine and fruit.

The house is available for year round rental with full central heating.

Chania being the second largest city of Crete is a charming port town full of flavours, aromas and a most distinct character. The Old part of the Town is a colorful blend of architectural influences predominantly Venetian, and boasts a lively café culture. In Chania you can satisfy all of your taste preferences with delicious local fresh recipes, heavenly wines or spirits and scrumptious delicacies from all over the world.

It is generally very picturesque, with many narrow alleys and old charming buildings, some of which have been restored as hotels, restaurants, shops and bars. This makes it a lively and colourful place especially during the warm period (April–October).

“Luxury apartments , a jewel in the Mediterranean”

Reviewed 22 Feb 2016

My wife and I stayed in one of these beautiful , elegantly furnished luxury apartments . The development is modern , built to superior design and British standards, with thought given to comfort and security not to mention practicality. The first thing that strikes you as you approach is the stunning view of the surrounding scenery and the azure blue of the Mediterranean Sea . The front door looks, and is, reassuringly sturdy but is easy to unlock and light on its hinges. Once inside , the Italianate kitchen really catches the eye with its style and grace and its petite size is more than ample to prepare any meal with marble floor and wall tiles throughout . The open plan layout leads to a dining area with a table and chairs and on the other side is a lounge area with two luxury leather sofas and a matching armchair , all with corresponding complementary cushions , plus a large tv should you need it .The ground floor has patio doors that lead out towards the wonderful pool where you can relax on a sunlounger or cool off in the divine water . There were two bedrooms with comfortable beds , one double and two singles in the other , Both bedrooms have storage and all the lockable security windows have flyscreens that keep out insects whilst still allowing ventilation , something missing from previous Cretan apartments I have stayed in. In fact , this apartment is leagues ahead of any other holiday apartments I have experienced. It would be possible to live all year round in this luxury as the cool air system can , in winter , be turned into a warm air system. That is not something to be found in many other places on the island. The grounds and environs surrounding the complex are extremely pleasant. There is car parking and local shops , services and tavernas that make Crete and Greece special . I had great difficulty prising my wife away from the apartment when we had to leave , such was its charm and absolute delight to stay in . It would be true to say I loved my stay here . After staying here I learned the meaning of the word panache .

Response from the owner Thank you for your really nice comments about our apartments. We look forward to seeing you again real soon. If you do want to come over in the Winter months the apartments all have full underfloor heating as well as air conditioning units and all of the local restaurants are open throughout the year.

“Great appartments, clean and very well maintained.”

A pleasure to stay here. Been on numerous other occasions as well. A great place to visit and near to some great beaches. Also a perfect place to visit the old town of Chania nearby. Plenty of Tavernas within walking distance for food and drink. Will be visiting again!!

Response from the owner Thank you for your comments. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
