Sailor’s Rest is a spacious 600 sf, fully renovated and well-appointed 1B/1B bungalow nestled in the hillside overlooking Salt River Bay and boasts one of the best views on island. This is the perfect spot for anyone who prizes comfort and privacy in a luxurious escape.

An enormous 500 sf covered porch provides you with the sun and rain protection you need to enjoy spending quality time outside in the Caribbean breeze. Relax in the lounge chairs, porch swing and club chairs, or dine al fresco. From the comfort of the private porch you can see the dark blue line at the 1300ft drop to the Caribbean’s largest living reef and watch the dive boats visit one of the most popular dive sites on island: Salt River Canyon. With pelicans and frickets flying overhead and turtles occasionally surfacing in the bay below, you are in the perfect place to kick back and take in the scenery. On a super clear day you can see Puerto Rico to the West, St. Thomas, St. John, Virgin Gorda, and Tortola to the North, and, if you’re really lucky, St. Martin to the East!

At night watch the colors change as the sun sets, the lights blink to life across the bay and all the way over in St. Thomas, the cruise ships glide across the water, and, if the moon isn’t too bright, the kayakers touring the Bioluminescent Bay below.

Inside comfort is king; from a large sectional couch in the living room to a Tempur-Pedic mattress in the bedroom. The apartment stays cool from the hillside and trade winds, but there is also AC in both the bedroom and living room in addition to three fans to keep you comfortable. Every window in the house boasts an ocean view. The large kitchen has a “pay it forward” bar, ice maker, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, toaster, chef knives, chopping block, Calphalon cookware, and a full size dishwasher. The living room has a blue tooth music player and a 32” flat screen TV with Amazon fire TV. High quality towels and linens are provided as well as basic necessities in both the bath and kitchen. Beach towels, chairs, coolers, and snorkel gear are also provided.

At the end of the patio a short flight of stairs leads you to two additional levels of decking surrounding a brand new glass mosaic pool. The shimmering iridescent pool is complete with a swim up bar and built in gas grill. Along the back of the pool is a large covered area providing shade for some club and lounge chairs. The smaller awning over the pool bar ensures that there is always some shade to be found within the pool itself. The pool area is the only space that is shared with the main house, but you can expect to have it to yourself most of the time.

Sailor’s Rest is centrally located in St. Croix, so you can get anywhere in 30 minutes and it’s only 4 miles to the shops and restaurants of downtown Christiansted. One of the best parts of this North-central location is that there are two grocery stores and a market within 5-10 minutes! This is a huge advantage over the East End. Moreover, located within the gated community of Judith’s Fancy, you are in one of the safest places on island. This family-oriented community is also a walking/running destination, boasting over 9 miles of private well-maintained roads. Judith’s Fancy also has the best surf break on island. From the apartment you can walk to the beach in 5-10 minutes.

Cleaning service is provided at the end of every week for visits lasting two weeks or more. This includes new linens and towels. Guests staying more than a week are also welcome to use the laundry facilities for their personal items.

Sorry, no pets allowed. There are a couple of sweet cats and a super loving Golden Retriever who live in the main house on the property. Two guest maximum, no smoking, and no children.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Alexandria (the owner) a message.

If Alexandria (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
