“Beautiful Villa, with stunning views”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2016

Villa Ruya is a beautiful villa located in a quiet location in Ciftlik. The Villa had everything we could need and more. It's obvious from first sight that Mert and Helen take great care and pride with their Villa. It felt like home from home the minute we arrived. The pictures on this site really don't do it enough justice it really is beautiful. The open plan living dining and kitchen area is well set out with everything you need (including a water cooler which is heaven on such hot days.) The games room on the ground floor is huge and has plenty to keep everyone entertained and out of the midday sun. All the bedrooms are air conditioned and well furnished. The open plan kitchen/dining/living area has an air conditioning unit but we believe this is used as a heater in the winter, so we were unable to use it for air conditioning which we struggled with when temperatures were 37degrees plus on most days it was very hot even with all doors/windows open. The pool area was fantastic too and although the side of the pool gets very slippery when wet (we travelled with a 2 year old and a 7 year old) we managed to buy them some water shoes with extra grip on the bottom to avoid them slipping around the pool, they were in it constantly and it was a great temperature. Mert rang us the day after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed and kept in touch throughout our stay, he was brilliant throughout the whole process from booking to leaving. I would highly recommend a car for this villa as it is in a very quiet location, we didn't and this was a mistake. There is a regular dolmus stop outside the Melissa supermarket down at the bottom of the road which is about a 10-15 minute walk however they are a bit confusing some would take us to calis and some wouldn't it seemed a bit hit and miss. We all had a fabulous holiday and will definitely be returning in the future. Also we used Halil from Toronto Car Hire for our airport transfers and he was FANTASTIC, he showed us around the area when we arrived and told us all local details that we needed I would highly recommend using him for airport transfers and car hire. I would like to say on behalf of my family and I that we had a fantastic holiday in a beautiful villa and thank you to Mert and Helen for everything. x

“The villa is just everything a family could wish for”

We were a family of 12 and we had the time of our life in this wonderful villa. The house is magnificent and it had large bedrooms, nice kitchen, game room and living room and the swimming pool was very good. In fact it was better than we had hoped for. Mr. Halil assisted us in every way and our neighbour took care of cleaning the swimming pool. The villa is near Fethiye which is a nice town with good restaurants, nice hamam, and a lovely harbour. It is just nice. And then you are not far from nice places like the beautiful town of Kalkan, Saklikent, Oludeniz the famous beach and the ruin of Tlos. And then it is magnificent to sail around the stunning coastline and swim in secluded bays.

“Great villa with all you need for relaxing break”

Villa was wonderful , the area was beautiful with plenty to see and do. A car is essential, I recommend hiring a boat for the day and a visit to salikent and olenduiz beach

“A lovely Villa highly recommended”

My extended family (9 with teenagers) had a wonderful week at Villa Ruya. The arrangements with owner Mert, who was very helpful, were very straight forward and managed via intranet and e mails. Mert contacted us by phone at the villa to ensure we had all we needed and offer suggestions. The villa is private, high quality in design and furnishing with all we needed, intranet and TV for our fix of the olympics!, cool bedrooms with air con and balconies for great views. We spent hours in the pool which was cleaned daily. The villa is in a quiet village, so hire a car to explore, the local roads and directions easy to use. We recommend visiting Saklikent gorge , Olendeniz and Calis beach and Goeck harbour. By far our favourite trip was hiring a private boat - the Aegean Soul for the day, snorkelling in clear waters, pretty bays and a fresh bar b q on board- captain Denis spoke excellent english having lived in Bristol for some time. Highly recommend the Villa Ruya and staying in this part of Turkey for a relaxing holiday with plenty to see and do.
