Once you enter through the front door, you’ll be amazed at the fantastic architectural styling and attention to rustic detail. Our main floor features a gourmet kitchen and dining area with ample seating for large groups. The comfortable great room with stacked stone fireplace and floor to ceiling windows surround you with beautiful long range views. Sit a spell in the screened in porch off the kitchen. In the summer you can curl up with a book and listen to the crickets while enjoying the night breezes; while fall offers a roaring fire in the stacked stone fireplace and laughter with family and friends. The well-appointed master suite offers a king sized bed with a private covered porch that is perfect for sipping coffee in the morning. The en-suite bath offers a soaking tub and natural slate shower for that spa feel and there is an adjacent walk in closet that connects to the laundry for convenience
The second story has a guest bath with a spacious stone walk in shower, two queen bedrooms and a large bonus room with en-suite bath. The bonus room is perfect for a rainy day with a beautiful built in bookcase window seat and even a hidden room behind the bookcase! There are two sets of bunk beds in this room with three twin beds, a twin trundle and a full size. There is also a TV in this room for entertainment.
For dining, Kleinhaus is conveniently located to Lake Burton, Clayton, Hiawassee, Sky Valley, Franklin, Highlands and Cashiers North Carolina. If you are looking for a special night out, make a reservation at the nearby Farmhouse at Persimmon Creek, an elegant farm to table restaurant on the grounds of a vineyard.
There are plenty of attractions within a few miles to keep you occupied. Minutes down the road, the Tallulah River offers kayaking in the spring and year round trout fishing. If you prefer catching, Andy’s Trout Farm near Dillard can hook you up and they’ll even clean your catch! Only a few miles from Kleinhaus and you are on beautiful, crystal clear Lake Burton. Nearby Anchorage marina offers boat rental and other water sports during the summer months. Just down from the marina there is a sheltered swimming beach perfect for all ages. Finally, don’t forget to take a beautiful scenic drive to view the numerous waterfalls in the area and hiking in the Nantahala Wilderness Area and Chattahoochee National Forest.
Rabun county and the surrounding area offers plenty of activities like antiquing, the Georgia Wine Highway and it’s fabulous wineries, Georgia and South Carolina apple orchards, Osage Farmers Market, the Tiger Drive In, Georgia Mountain Fair, Dillard House, hiking, zip lining, white water rafting, hunting, fishing, shopping in Highlands and Cashiers North Carolina, boating, swimming, kayaking, wildlife viewing, waterfalls, leaf peeping in the fall, gem mining in Franklin North Carolina, casinos in Cherokee North Carolina, skiing in Sky Valley and North Carolina, Smokey Mountain National Park and general sightseeing . All this and we are only about 2+ hours from Atlanta!
