From the owner

The Puilacher castle is an historical monument which has been restored with all modern conveniences.

Il is in a calm village with a beautiful point of view on hills around and the village Tressan.

The swimming-pool in an isolated area, safe for children.

There is all around many activities for adults and children (horse riding, lake and river for swimming, etc.) and many sites to visit (abbeys, caves, markets, vineyards, etc.)

Further details

Guests are welcomed by the owner or by his representative who can give them as many information that they need concerning the region (gastronomy, walks, visits, etc.)

Further details indoors

The chateau has 3 floors. Every room is decorated according to it's use and contains souvenirs of the owner. The most used level is the first floor because it contains an inner courtyard sheltered by an immense fig tree, very pleasant in summer; it possesses a barbecue and has access to the kitchen and the big reception hall.

The first floor includes:

A kitchen decorated with a stained-glass window made by an artist of the region, Carlo Roccella, and includes a dining space in the old tower; it has all the necessary modern equipment: 2 refrigerators, a gas cooker, an electric oven, an microwave oven, two dishwashers, a washing machine, a coffee maker with ground coffee, a coffee maker with sachets, a mixer, a toaster, a kettle and the necessary kitchenware and dishes for 12 persons.

A living room with an imposing fireplace and well thought out decoration with, in particular, paintings of an ancestor of the family and a meal held in the chateau.

A reception hall with access to the esplanade and onto the inner courtyard, with a large wooden sculpture representing Congolese women looking towards the future.

A bedroom with a terrace overlooking the swimming pool, with an ancient walnut and oak parquet floor , and an en-suite shower-room (the bed measures 160x200);

A bedroom with mezzanine floor next to the church, with a window looking over the church and a balustrade made to resemble one in a church of the region and an adjacent shower-room (bed measures 140x200);

A bedroom looking over the church with a French-style ceiling and a XVIIIth century fireplace (bed measures 140x200).

A shower-room.

A toilet.

Further details outdoors

The esplanade

The main facade is around thirty metres in length and looks over an esplanade decorated with hundred-year-old pines. You can see Tressan, a nearby village, from there. In the West corner of the esplanade is the garage which can take two cars (unlocked garage).

The swimming pool

The swimming pool is situated at the southwest end of the facade; it is separated from the esplanade by a Cyprus hedge and a lockable metal enclosure. The 6x12m swimming pool goes from 1m20 to 1m90 in depth. From the swimming pool you can see the belltower of the village church. Deckchairs, table and garden chairs are all available.

The inner courtyard

In the Southeast corner of the chateau is an inner courtyard measuring around 200 m2. It is sheltered by an enormous fig tree which shades it. There is a stone barbecue with a large table and wooden and garden chairs. The courtyard is particularly pleasant in summer because it is near the kitchen and the reception hall and has the cool shelter of the fig tree.

All the deckchairs, the chairs and the necessary garden tables are supplied for the inner courtyard as for the swimming pool. There is also wood for the barbeque.

We can usually park four cars at the end of the esplanade: two in the garage and two others opposite against the railing of the swimming pool. This arrangement does not mar the view of the facade. The maintenance of the lawn is carried out approximately every 10 days, more often if necessary. The maintenance of the swimming pool is carried out every evening.
