Description from owner
Celebrated in the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics as Danny Boyle showed us England's green and pleasant land morphing into a landscape of furnaces and smoke stacks as the industrial revolution began... Coalbrookdale is where it happened.
The industrial heritage is stamped on Coalbrookdale and the surrounding areas in a charming and fascinating way. The history is all around in the landscape and the architecture.
The Old Post Office is a spacious Grade II listed building just across the road from the Coalbrookdale museums. It is right in the heart of the World Heritage Site and makes a perfect base from which to explore the seat of the Industrial Revolution and the Ironbridge Gorge.
******IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO STAY FOR 5 OR 6 NIGHTS, PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR A PRICE*******

We include a travel cot and a high chair and there is a selection of DVDs, games and books for all ages.
At the front the sitting room is the old post office with the large shop window making it light and cheerful with a restful view of trees opposite. There are two large sofas to relax on, a smart TV and a log burner for the colder days.

A large modern bathroom with electric shower other the bath completes the upstairs rooms.

The Museums use a passport ticket system, which on their website says....''The Annual Passport Ticket represents fantastic value. “Lovely little getaway”
This house is a perfect little get away for anyone wanting to stay close to ironbridge with the town just minuite walk away theres no need for worrying about finding somewhere to park. The house itself is kept beautifully, and has it's own character, for couples this is a romantic property and the bath is a must. Would definitely stay here again.
Impeccably clean and very well laid out. Quiet location. Modern but cottage style decor. Wood burner was lovely to make use of. Not far from the centre of Ironbridge. Really pleased with booking all in all.
“Amazing house in a wonderful location”
Wow, what a week we have had. This house is just perfect for our little family. A huge master bedroom with the most comfortable bed of anywhere we have stayed and a wonderful kids room with bunk beds. The bathroom is massive. The kitchen has everything that was needed and more. The dinning room is homely and the lounge is great. Use the outside furniture to site out a couple of evenings, out the front watching the world go by. The area is wonderful,so much to do. Obviously the 10 museums of Ironbridge are a highlight but we also loved Much Wenlock, Ludlow, Bridgenorth,RAF Cosford, Severn Valley Railway, Telford Steam Railway and various English Heritage sites. The pub just up the road was one of the biggest highlights, super friendly with a great selection of ale at ridiculously low priced. I cannot recommend a stay highly enough.
“Very comfortable and convenient location”
The Old Post Office is very comfortably furnished and is equipped with all that is needed. There is on road parking right outside and also right outside is a bus stop (for both directions). It is an excellent location for visiting the attractions many of which can be reached on foot. Ample shops and pubs are in the area and numerous lovely walks. Should we return to the area we would not hesitate to stay there again.
“Lovely cottage in a great location.”
This was our second visit to The Old Post Office, so obviously we wanted to go back and this time didn't disappoint, even though we had horrible weather. The only thing that would make it better would be a downstairs wc, however we realise that in an old place like this maybe it would not be possible. Would visit again.
