On the doorstep of the magnificent Barrington Tops World Heritage Area, The Tops Organic Retreat set on 2000 acres is a nature lover’s paradise just 3.5 hours from Sydney and 2 hours from Newcastle. Barrington Tops rises to over 1600m and is the highest point in Australia you can drive. Immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquillity of the ancient Gondwana rainforest.

Experience Barrington Tops’ Beautiful Scenery and Wildlife

Guests at Barrington Tops really enjoy the peace and comfort of their cabins, horse riding, kayaking, mountain bike riding, beautiful walks, bird and wildlife watching. We have 30km of private tracks on the property so you can explore the Tops yourself.

We have 3km of the famous Dilgry River, noted as the cleanest river on the Australian mainland, with a great picnic area and some fantastic fishing spots. Be on the lookout for rare species of birds and wildlife, including two families of wedge-tailed eagles, a family of resident koalas, potoroos, platypus, kangaroos and wallabies. Children can pet our guinea pigs and rabbits, collect eggs, feed chickens, ducks, ducklings, geese, alpacas, goats, cows, horses, pig and Jesse the friendly dog is always keen for a walk. With 2000 acres there is plenty of room at the Tops for everyone with a swimming pool, tennis court, mountain bikes and 30km of beautiful walks, creeks and rivers, and NO extra charges.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
