From the manager

This impressive stable block has been sympathetically renovated into a fantastic property, overlooking a courtyard in the pretty border town of Coldstream and sleeps up to eight people. The building was originally constructed in the late eighteenth century on the outskirts of the Hirsel Estate. The renovation and remodelling of the property seamlessly combines the comfort of modern living with unusual period features such as a library. With parking for up to four cars and capable of sleeping a total of eight people â with one king-size double room, one first floor twin, one second floor twin and one third floor double â this great property would make an excellent holiday home for a single large family, a group of friends, or two smaller families. For 19/2/22, please enquire re shorter break prices if less than 7 nights

Amenities: New gas central heating with Hive control, New gas oven/grill & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, 2 x TVs, DVD player, PlayStation 2, CD/cassette/radio, Broadband Wifi, large selection of books/DVDs. All fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 4 cars. Large, enclosed rear courtyard with open arch. Sorry, no pets & no smoking. Shops & pubs 2 mins walk. For week of 19/2/22, please enquire re shorter break prices if less than 7 nights

Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britains best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Town: The pretty town of Coldstream sits on the northern bank of the river Tweed and is famous as the home of the Coldstream Guards. As a former rival to Gretna Green, this charming little town performed its fair share of illicit marriages. With a museum dedicated to its famous guards, a wide variety of shops and facilities for horse riding, golfing and fishing nearby, this historic settlement has something for everyone to do. The picturesque estate of The Hirsel is set to the west of the town and was once home to former Prime Minister, Alec Douglas. The estate is now a great spot for bird watching and many species choose to nest there. The Scottish borders and the rest of Northumberland are all within easy driving distance, making this a great location for people looking to explore the wider area.

Response from the manager
It is excellent to hear that you had such a lovely holiday at Carriage House, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your stay there. Sitting on the balcony with a glass of fizz sounds just wonderful, what a way to begin your holiday! It sounds like the rest of your stay was just as great too! We certainly hope that you return again very very soon.
