Humming Bear Cabins are located on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains. Stay at 3600 feet on the top of a mountain. Our cabins are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths with all the linen needed for your stay. When you arrive relax in the Jacuzzi in front of the wood fireplace looking at the view of the mountains. You may just want to curl up on the futon in the living room with a good book or movie in front of that fireplace. Wake up to a cup of hot coffee and have it on the 800 square foot deck while watching the sun rise over the mountains. The deck is large enough for the whole group to enjoy without being crowded. Need some privacy but still want to be outside have a seat at the bistro table in the breezeway between the two cabins. Ready to eat our kitchen comes with all the utensils and dishes needed including a crock pot to have your meals ready when you come back from a day of sight seeing. Spend the evening out on the deck by the fire pit making smores, or fix your supper on the grill located off the deck and eat in the gazebo on the deck.

Want to adventure out there are a lot of things to do in the area. Like to fish there are several good fishing spots in the park, creeks and Douglas lake. Go to the bottom of the mountain and fish for some rainbow trout. Take a horse back ride through the mountains at one of the many stables nearby. Zip through the canopy or take a rafting trip down one of the rivers. Take a hike! Go on one of the many trails in the park or make your own in the section of the park behind the cabin. Want to go for a swim go to the swimming hole at Greenbriar park and slide down the rocks. Or a short drive to downtown Gatlinburg for some shopping at the specialty shops or the outlet stores in Pigeon Forge. Race a car or ride a roller coaster or take in a show at one of the attractions. Want a little history take a short drive to Asheville to the Biltmore or to Cherokee for Native American history or stop by the casino. Need to relax and recover from you day out we have a massage therapist that will come to your cabin and provide you with the treatments you need.

Please note that due to the altitude of the cabin the road can become snow covered in the winter and make travel difficult. Therefore it is recommended that you use a four wheel drive or chains in the winter months. The county does not salt or scrape our road in the winter. You may need to park at the bottom and walk up at times. Therefore there is no refund due to road conditions that is why we recommend vacation insurance for your stay. The county portion of the road is gravel the private portion to the top where our cabin is, is paved. Please follow the directions provided after booking. PLEASE NO EARLY CHECK IN OR LATE CHECK OUT NO REFUNDS GIVEN DUE TO ROAD CONDITIONS NO PARTIAL REFUNDS GIVEN FOR EARLY DEPARTURE NO REFUNDS GIVEN AFTER CHECK IN TIME. Yes in the contract it states that trash must be removed, thus us due to bears and raccoons in the area as they have gotten in the trash in the past. If the guest wishes they may give up 25.00 of the damage deposit and the trash will be removed for them. Try be hot tub does work if directions posted are followed. The view is open and will be opened more when permission is given by the property owners the trees are growing on.

We were disappointed when we saw that the cabin is surrounded by tall trees and mountains are barely visible. The deck and chairs were not cleaned for many years, full of spider webs. Inside is better… More

The road is very drivable if the directions for driving that are provided are followed and you do not need a 4wd . All the linens are cleaned and replaced as we have several sets of each. Our cabin is located on the smoky's park boundary so we are li mlm inter as to what we can cut and spray. Our deck chairs get covered in pllen when we have a dry spells as we have had, we try to keep them cleaned but sometimes nature has other plans. The view is open but not all the way we are awaiting permission. From the other property owner to cut those trees. Spiders build webs and they build them fast, we spray for them and knock down the webs but they can build back very quickly. The dog belongs to a neighbor and if the driving instructions are followed it will not follow you or get in your way.

The view for this cabin was amazing. We enjoyed our stay immensely. It was further from activities than what we originally thought, but was a nice place to spend our evenings.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Daniel (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
