Micks Cottage has beautiful and peaceful rural and sea views. Just a five minute walk from the picturesque fishing village of Crail with its beaches, famous harbour and pottery, Micks Cottage is a great base for exploring the East Neuk of Fife and everything it has to offer. It is a semi-detached terraced cottage in a row of three, next door to Cradle Cottage, and Meggie Allan's and Sypsies Cottage a stone's throw away. It is a few minutes walk to The Cow Shed Crail wedding venue and is ideal for families, couples, wedding guests and pet owners.

Set across one level, Mick's Cottage briefly compromises of:

1 master double bedroom (cannot be altered)

3 twin bedrooms (cannot be altered)

All bedrooms benefit from en-suite bathrooms separated by recycled rolling shed doors

1 master bathroom

Hello Hazel, Thank you for your review. As we have spoken about privately, it is never nice when guests are upset about their stay. Unfortunately, unforeseen and unanticipated issues can, and do, appear at holiday houses and we simply ask, to have the opportunity to know about them and fix them during your stay. . We kindly ask that guests call us, with any issues once they are noticed. This course of action, is included in our terms and conditions, in our info books, on booking correspondence and on our FAQs on the website – we are always very quick to respond to issues. I appreciate you were running late. Our maintenance man for Crail lives 5 minutes away and is always on call and we would have arranged for a member of the maintenance team to attend straight away. I note from our private email exchanges that it was neither the linen nor bedding that was dirty but rather the sofa bed itself. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Due to the time of year, we have been back to back with bookings however do routinely get all carpets, soft furnishings professionally cleaned and have a cleaning process in place, whereby our cleaning teams spot clean any stains on changeovers. Sorry again this stain was missed and thanks again for bringing to our attention. We were all so glad to hear that most importantly you enjoyed your Daughters Wedding. As you said, the Cow Shed is a stunning venue. Sorry that Mick's Cottage did not meet your requirements. Should you ever require accommodation in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us directly before booking and a member of our dedicated team, will happily provide property recommendations in line with what you are looking for. Good Afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we appreciate you bringing the issues you experienced to our attention. I am very pleased to hear you found the beds comfortable during your stay at Mick's Cottage and in turn had an enjoyable nights sleep. I am however sorry to hear that you felt there was a bad smell at the property. As you are aware, once the office was made aware of the issue, we arranged for our maintenance team to promptly attend the property and investigate. Despite numerous checks, the only partial smell that could be detected was from the fridge/freezer filter, which in turn they took out and thoroughly cleaned. If we were notified that the smell had persisted, we would of course been more than happy to have arranged for a follow up visit. On your departure, our maintenance team re-attended the property and found their to be no smell evident. It has been an extremely busy summer and we have fortunately since, not received any additional complaints of the same nature. With regards to the cushions, I do apologise that these were not provided for your stay and that the alternative seating provided, was not suitable for your Husband. Firstly we are so pleased that you enjoyed the location of the cottages and that they were comfortable and suitable for the wedding at the Cow Shed. We are so sorry that you felt our service let you down however we did explain prior to your stay with us that there is a charge for cots and highchairs as Kingask keep a supply at the office and clean and transport these items based on individual guest requests. We actually receive very positive feedback from our guests on how helpful it is that items can be provided at a small cost for their stay. We were not made aware of the water pressure/temperature during your stay or that the towels provided were insufficient. We would have certainly sent our maintenance man to look at the pressure and of course provide more towels to make your stay more comfortable. Once again, thank you for providing feedback as we do value this and take on board your comments.

Why can't I call the property manager before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send the property manager a message.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
