Location description from owner

The England region

The North Devon coastline is as rugged as it is beautiful. For spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches whatever the season, there's no better place in England and in particular the beautiful golden surf beaches of Putsborough, Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton; the amazing coastal cliffs, some of the highest in Britain, rising to over 800' above the sea. Then there's the lush green rolling countryside for which Devon is so famous and the deep wooded valleys around Lynton with ancient oaks and rivers tumbling over giant boulders. Then of course the rugged wilderness of Exmoor - quite breath-taking in its desolation. Not forgetting the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Braunton Burrows, the fishing port of Appledore, still landing locally caught fish and Ilfracombe now boasting Damien Hirst's 65' sculpture, Verity.

Places of interest in the region include:

- Lundy Island, a Pirates' hideaway in years gone by, now owned by The Landmark Trust. It is well serviced by day trip boats from Ilfracombe

- Clovelly: a world famous fishing village in North Devon, built into a cleft in a 400' high cliff. The cobbled street tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port. It is famous for its donkeys, which traditionally carry goods up the hill; sledges bring things down. There are links with Charles Kingsley, Turner, Dickens and the Spanish Armada.

- National Trust's Arlington Court - a splendid regency house and gardens full of the Chichester's collections. Other properties in the region include Knightshayes and Killerton House.

- Panier Market and Butcher's Row, Barnstaple - a must visit for foodies.

- RHS Rosemoor - 65 acres of both formal and informal gardens - as well as woodland walks, water features and open spaces - there is something for children and adults alike to enjoy time and again.

- Dartington Crystal, Torrington - at the award winning visitor centre you can watch the live demonstration of glassmaking and try the many hands-on activities we have to offer, as well as seeing the museum collection. The shop has lots of tempting goodies.
for everyone and staying at Point View will allow you to be in the centre of it all whilst staying in an iddillic retreat with Spa Tub

Croyde

A beach that goes on forever, rugged heritage coastline, stunning views, a picking of postcard thatch cottages and at the very hub…a traditional village pub.

Nestling in the rolling hills of the Devonshire Golden Coast, sits the picturesque village of Croyde. With miles of sandy beaches, magnificent scenic walks and home to some of the best surf in Europe, Croyde is an extremely popular holiday destination for people of all ages.

This idyllic haven offers everything a family should need from General Store and Post Office, to Croyde's heavenly Ice Cream Parlour and not to mention the famous pub of 25 years 'The Thatch', with it's delicious food and great live entertainment.

Croyde is set in the middle of the 'Devon Gold Coast', so called because of the miles of beautiful beaches at Croyde Bay, Saunton, Woolacombe and Putsborough. Whether surfing, walking, cycling or relaxing is on the agenda, Croyde is a hive of activity during the summer, and a wonderful tranquil retreat during the winter.

“2 Point View”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2016

My husband and came with friends for a week the weather was beautiful and the accommodation was the best we have had so far in Croyde. It was clean, well presented almost as if the owners had lived there at some point and then moved and wanted to rent it out. The hot tub was an added bonus. The beach was 5 minute walk from the apartment and a short walk to centre of village to the pubs one if which The Thatch has an extensive gin menu well worth a look and food is good to. If you wanted a nice breakfast the cafe Blue Groove is excellent and does good coffee and smoothies. Over all it was a brilliant stay and the owner was so helpful when we forgot a few items in sending them back her communication was excellent as were her helpful cleaners. We highly recommend this apartment and part of Devon

Many thanks for the lovely review Sarah, it was a pleasure to have you and thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. We do treat our apartments as an extension of our home and as you can tell we are very proud of them, so thank you for your lovely comments. We hope to see you again in the near future. Best regards, Tess

“Beautiful apartment, excellent location!”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2016

Such a beautiful apartment - the bedroom was stunning! Two luxurious bathrooms and all super clean! Hot tub was brilliant, rain or shine. Had all the facilities we needed - including a cafetière! We took bikes and there was a gateway so we could keep them safely round the back, all very secure. Beach, pubs, restaurants all a short walk away - village has a really busy and exciting vibe, yet the apartment was calm and relaxing.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay Kelli and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Best regards, Tess

“A perfect base for a weekend in Croyde”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2015

Some mates and I stayed at 2 Point View for a long weekend (3 nights, Friday - Monday) for a weekend of golf, surfing and pubs. First off, Tessa was so helpful in processing our booking seeing as we'd left it until the Thursday afternoon to book! Everything went through smoothly and we were delighted with the service, ready to head down from London on the Friday morning. The accommodation itself was perfect for us. All of the rooms were clean and tidy and there was nothing lacking in terms of facilities. Tessa had made sure the hot tub was turned on for us on Friday morning and this was just about warm enough for a Friday night session, but much better on the Saturday. The hot tub was a blessing after a long round of golf on Saturday and an afternoon surfing on Sunday. All in all, 2 Point View was a good base for a short visit to Croyde, with a taxi only costing us nearly £30 for a night out in Barnstaple on Saturday night. Many thanks to Tessa for accommodating our stay.

“Fantastic apartment, great location”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2015

2 Point View is a fantastic luxury and spacious ground floor apartment. Just a few minutes walk from the beach and less than 10 minutes walk from the pubs and restaurants of Croyde village. My eldest son uses a wheelchair and its has proved increasingly difficult to find accommodation that is wheelchair friendly, spacious and well located close to Croyde... The ground level 2 Point View apartment ticks all these boxes and more!! My two boys especially loved the hot tub... We will definitely book this apartment again in the future.

“Home from Home!”

We had a lovely week at Point View! The Apartment had everything to offer! Fabulous position within Croyde! Walking distance to all the bars, restaurants & the beach! We've stayed in Croyde many times, but this was the first time staying at an apartment with a Hot-Tub & we'll definitely be booking again!!! Thank-You!

“Fantastic apartment, great location...we'll be back”

A fantastic apartment in a great location for Croyde Bay, Croyde village and Saunton Sands. The apartment itself is spacious, clean and modern and the hot tub is a nice bonus. We actually thought it was bigger (both outside and inside) than the pictures online suggest. Thanks-look forward to coming again!

“Can't wait to return!”

Reviewed 8 May 2015

We spend several weekends each year in Croyde Bay. This (by far) has been the best holiday rental we've found. The property is spacious and the master bedroom is amazing. All of the fixtures and fittings were very high quality and you could tell the owner takes great care in providing a superb holiday flat. You will be impressed! We can't wait to book again.

“Wonderful relaxing weekend”

Very impressive apartment from the moment you enter. Beautifully decorated and equipped. Bathrooms and kitchen very modern and look brand new. Everything there you could need. Hot tub was was the icing on the cake for us, spent a lot of time just relaxing in there under the stars. Will definitely come back.

That's wonderful Debbie, I am so pleased you had a lovely time and everything was to your satisfaction. I am also delighted that you took inspiration from our wonderful bathrooms, good luck with your project! We look forward to hopefully accommodating you and your family again in 2015. All the best, Tess
