Anchor Down is situated in a quiet leafy lane in the heart of Croyde, just round the corner from the famous Thatch Inn and Billy Budd's. The legendary surfing beach at Croyde Bay is only a short walk away, and some of the finest links golf courses in Britain are located nearby. The house is in a Swiss chalet style, and the décor combines surf and ocean themes. Spacious and newly renovated, Anchor Down is a modern four bedroom house, sleeping 8, with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms including a family bathroom and a separate shower-room. Ideal home from home for larger families, two families or group of friends. There is a double width drive and a garage, allowing parking for up to three vehicles. The garage can also be used to securely store surf boards, wetsuits, bikes, or any other outdoor equipment. Unlimited WiFi broadband (8mbps) is included.

Type 2 EV charger (7kW/h). Charging costs are not included in the property rental price and must be paid for at/after departure).

Lounge

Three sofas, seating for eight plus. Home cinema system with 55inch 3D HDTV, Playstation 3 games console, Blu-rays (including 3D), DVDs, and books, including children's. HiFi with Bluetooth connectivity. The rear of the lounge has a separate sofa and small HD TV with built in DVD/USB media player functionality, HDMI inputs, and a Wii games console. This way the kids can play games/DVDs without hogging the main TV. Large patio sliding door into the enclosed front lawn.

Kitchen / Diner

Spacious kitchen/dining room, appliances include: dishwasher, microwave, built-in oven, large fridge freezer, fan-assisted oven, halogen hob. Spot lighting throughout. Dining area with large wooden dining table with seating for eight, plus high chair. Doors leading to rear garden with decking. Wooden picnic table and chairs, with 57cm Weber BBQ.

There are 4 bedrooms, 3 upstairs bedrooms and 1 twin-bedroom located downstairs.

Bedroom 1: Master bedroom with a double bed, built in wardrobe.

Bedroom 4: Downstairs twin bedroom, wardrobe.

Bathrooms

Two bathrooms including a family bathroom, a separate shower-room and a separate WC.

Main family bathroom: with white suite, bath, washbasin and WC. Fully tiled, heated towel rail and storage.

Shower room: A separate shower room with walk in shower and washbasin. Fully tiled, heated towel rail and airing cupboard.

Separate WC: Located downstairs off the large entrance hall.

Outdoors

Fully enclosed and private lawn garden, to the rear of the property is a private decked area with seating and a BBQ for outside entertaining. There is an outside storeroom and a garage with a washing machine, tumble drier. Lots of room for securely storing sport equipment such as bikes and surfboards. Dedicated parking for 2 vehicles on the double width drive, with the garage also available for a third vehicle.

Why can't I call Steve (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Steve (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Steve (the owner) a message.

If Steve (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
