From the owner

Note: This house is not for everyone. Crucita is not a resort; it is a small working fishing village with a popular beach. There are restaraunts, a bank and even private taxis; however, it does not offer the many amenities available in larger cities. Please read this description carefully and I will be happy to answer any of your questions.

This is a modern house that was created from an abandoned pyramid structure. New tile floors, new private baths (modern), four rooftop terraces, and a private courtyard. The private home is a unique structure overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Furnishings are very sparse in keeping with the clean modern interior design but both bedrooms are equipped with a great king sized bed.

The house is on a hill overlooking the town also. Its a short walk to the beach, and to great restaurants serving fresh seafood and local vegetables. However, the hill is steep and about 150-200 yeards long. A car is recommended for most.

The neighborhood is in a gated preserve of about 15 exclusive homes and a restaurant and paragliding facilities.

Crucita says of the neighborhood - "The conditions here are quite favorable for Paragliding which is a very popular past time in Crucita. The constant weather conditions make for excellent flying. There is a very nice launch site available which includes a restaurant/bar. A platform on the cliff side makes for nice viewing if you decide not to try flying yourself. Tandem rides are available and are very affordable. The scenery over the ocean and inland is spectacular and gliders are often joined by seabirds that are enjoying the warm thermals keeping them effortlessly in the air."

Note: There is DirecTV available but you have great views of the ocean, the beaches of Crucita, the city of Manta to the South, the town of Crucita of course, and Bahia to the North.

Cooking is by induction cooktops which can be placed on the center island of the kitchen or left on their cart to be wheeled out to cook on one of the terraces. A little disconcerting for some, but it is the wave of the future in terms of safety, ecology, and quickness.

The reviewer is correct in describing the plastic beach chairs and tables. We have been unable to get quality material here. The salt air and the sun weakens the plastic chairs and we are forced to replace about 20% of them each season. We are hopefull that we can get quality material soon! There are curtains / drapes in the bedrooms and tv room but not on all windows throughout the house. We have a good rate of repeat customers, but we certainly understand that many will find an ultra-modern house and style not to their liking. We will go out of our way to make your trip to coastal Ecuador pleasant and rewarding.

Why can't I call Pyramid (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Pyramid (the owner) a message.

If Pyramid (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
