From the manager

Widcombe Grange is a big house that is wonderful for large groups celebrating a family get together, birthday or just wanting to have a great house party. Weekends are popular and it's a lovely place to stay for a week in the summer too, making the most of the pool, hot tub and grounds.

The Grounds

In front of the house is a natural pond with its own island gazebo (licensed for weddings) and beyond this is an area of woodland, great for rambling around or for children to burn off some energy. You can also enjoy the two acre spring fed lake and have a row on the boat if you fancy a bit of swallows and amazons! Beside the lake is an apple orchard and you can enjoy some of the apple juice in our welcome pack.

The 22 acres give you enough space if you want to try your hand at some country pursuits. Our ranger can be pre-booked to teach you archery, clay or pistol shooting. So your group can stay and play without ever having to leave site!

In the walled garden is the open air heated swimming pool (May - September) - a real sun trap with reclining loungers too. Beside the main house in a very sheltered courtyard there is a large, warm & bubbly hot tub, ideal for relaxing and a great way to unwind, enjoying the company of your friends or family.

Ground floor

The front door opens to the oak floored hallway and leads on to the kitchen which has every thing we think you'll need for your stay. The dining room can seat 24 guests comfortably with patio doors leading out to the courtyard (and hot-tub), great for after dinner! The drawing room (with log burner), sitting room and den (leading out to a patio) are all interconnected providing ideal space for easy living. One bedroom with en suite shower room provides easy access accommodation on this level.

First Floor

There are six bedrooms (and four shower/bathrooms of which one is en-suite) all have views over the gardens.

Keepers Cottage

The cottage has its own walled garden where you will find the heated pool (open May to September). It has 2 ground floor bedrooms and a shower room and upstairs there are three bedrooms and two shower/bathrooms (one en suite).

Coach House

Here you'll find plenty more to entertain yourselves, particularly on rainy days. For the fun loving among you, there's hours of fun to be had with table tennis, football and a snooker table. It is also licensed for wedding civil ceremonies and makes an ideal party venue for dancing.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
