Two charming houses which are side by side, but with internal access allowing the possibility to use them as one large property. Renovated in local style with extra modern comforts (including under floor heating for the cooler months). In Les Arches de Muschamp you will feel comfortable and relaxed. The smaller details have been catered for. The atmosphere and charm of the decoration makes for a lovely environment. Linen and towels are provided and the beds are made up for you on arrival, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy! Situated in a location that allows an easy drive to many of the famous chateaux in the Loire Valley. Just 20 minutes from the famous medieval town of LOCHES with its twice weekly market, and within an hour's drive to the famous Chateau of AMBOISE, Chateau CHENONCEAUX and Chateau VILLANDRY with its magnificent gardens.The house is situated in a 'cour de ferme' amongst beautiful rolling countryside and just five minutes' drive from the famous horse breeding farm, Haras de Muschamp. The owner Janet Scollay-Lorch is happy to assist you with local knowledge of vineyards, restaurants and activities for the younger generation, but equally happy to respect the privacy of their guests. For those who wish to venture further afield the coastal town of La Rochelle is worth a visit (approx 2.5 hour's drive). For bird watchers and walkers La Brenne is a beautiful area with many lakes and wild life. The chateaux de Montpoupon is an unusual private chateaux with a wonderful horse and hunting museum on site. The entire area has an active summer programme of village festivities, concerts and animations. But equally if you just want to relax Les Arches de Muschamp has a great exterior area with loungers and a gas barbeque. There is even a private fully equipped gym available for use by special agreement.

Why can't I call Janet (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Janet (the owner) a message.

If Janet (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
