Welcome to our lake home, sitting on over 560’ of pine-studded lakeshore at the end of a point on Sand Lake (40 miles NW of Grand Rapids). The 1800 SF rustic-modern cedar home sits on a low bluff with stunning views of lake, island, and forest in all directions. Early risers can catch the sunrise through the bedroom windows, then at night watch glorious, drawn-out sunsets unfold through the great room and screen porch windows. (It's also great fun to watch storms roll in, as we have miles of unobstructed lake view to the northwest!)

Sleep to the call of the loon and watch bald eagles perch in front of your eyes. Canoe or boat to five other lakes from our dock; there is an excellent boat landing nearby for your boat and we provide a canoe)--or if you want a change of scene, trailer your boat to nearby Winnie or Bowstring lakes. Fish for walleye, largemouth, northern, sunfish, crappie, and perch. Make pizza & bread in the outdoor adobe oven. Relax on the deck or screen porch only 45’ from water’s edge; woods on both sides offer complete privacy.

House has an open floor plan and natural stone fireplace. The huge master suite w/Jacuzzi was the living room of the original 1942 cottage, has a romantic vintage feeling with log beams overhead. Upstairs bedroom opens onto balcony with a window seat. Huge picture windows are new in 2013. All furnished with antiques & collectibles, hand-woven rugs, and original artworks. There are two queen beds, with an airbed available if more sleeping space is needed.

It is our little bit of Paradise, and we would love to share it with you!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Karen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
