Hollyhocks Cottage is a traditional brick and flint 1850's Railwayman's Cottage, located in the heart of the charming North Norfolk village of Docking and provides an exceptionally comfortable stay all year round. It has been tastefully renovated whilst retaining many original features. it is fully centrally heated and has been furnished to an extremely high standard with many original paintings.
Downstairs you'll find an open plan lounge/diner, separated by a half height partition with aspect towards the fully fitted shaker kitchen. Appliances include a washing machine, dishwasher, electric induction hob, fan assisted oven/grill, microwave and fridge with icebox. Upstairs, there are 2 double bedrooms (one with an oak double bed and the second with 2 pine single beds, ideal for children or other guests). Hollyhocks Cottage has installed a brand new bathroom withrainfall shower over bath and also offers FREE WiFi to its guests. Smart TV and Google smart speakers. Outside, enjoy the wonderful suntrap courtyard garden.
Hollyhocks is within 2 minutes walk of a beautiful well stocked fishing lake. The best fish and chip shop for miles is just 2 minutes walk away! There is a well stocked “Spar” supermarket 15 minutes walk away which is open 7 days per week from 7.00AM till 10.00pm. There is a post office inside the supermarket. Railway Inn restaurant and pub serving lovely meals is a 15 minute walk away. Children's Playground with park, swings, slides etc plus tennis courts, basket ball courts, cricket pitch, football pitch and bowling green are all within 5 minutes walk of Hollyhocks.
Docking is the centre point branching in all directions to the resorts and beauty spots of North Norfolk. You are spoilt for choice where to go. It does not matter which direction you take out of Docking, for within five to ten minutes drive you will stumble across wonderful areas of outstanding natural beauty or villages and towns that appear unchanged through the ages. You will find places to eat and drink to suit all tastes and price brackets.
Beaches
If you enjoy beautiful beaches visit Old Hunstanton (famous for its red cliffs), Brancaster, Thornham, Holme, Burnham Overy Staithe, Holkham Beach, Wells and carrying on as far as Blakeney and Cley to the south. If you are lucky you will see basking seals or spy the oyster catchers or an owl. The local beach of Brancaster is just 4 miles away, 5 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bike.
Birdwatching
North Norfolk is a birdwatcher's paradise. You will find the bird reserves at Titchwell, Holme and Snettisham. Binoculars are provided as are many bird books. You are welcome to borrow but please return them for the use of future guests.

Posh Towns
The beautiful small market town of Burnham Market is just 5 miles from “Hollyhocks” taking 10 minutes by car. This is the most fashionable charming place sometimes called “Chelsea-on-Sea” with a range of exquisite private shops and restaurants for all tastes. The lovely market town of Holt is just over 20 miles away.
Walking
There are walks and hikes in all directions starting from or near Docking. The Peddars Way is very close by. In the cottage you will find books containing information on all the beautiful local places to see and visit.
Pretty Cities
If the weather should be inclement, then Kings Lynn is just 16 miles west. Norwich, the capital City of Norfolk is 40 miles south (about 1 hour maximum by car) with all its attractions, shopping centres, museums, Castle, Cathedral etc.
