The Old Salthouse is a ground floor studio apartment that underwent complete refurbishment into a contemporary living space.

Located within the iconic 'Barnaloft' complex located in the heart of the old fishermans quarters of St Ives known as 'Downalong'. The studio apartment is on ground level with a private parking space (which is a luxury in St Ives) right next to the front door. The Barnaloft / Piazza apartment and studio complex was initially converted in 1962 from a pilchard curing cellar and seine loft and provides private access to the beautiful Porthmeor beach where you can watch the sunset with a chilled glass of wine.

Ideal for a romantic getaway for a couple wanting the peace and tranquility found only in St Ives or alternatively friends who would like to share the St Ives experience of the Tate and Barbara Hepworth Museum and the wonderful culinary delights found in the area.

All bedding is included. Please bring your own towels, tea towels and a bath mat with you from home to use during your stay, Please also bring your own beach towels. All prices are based on 2 people sharing. When leaving the property the bin liner from the main bin situated in the lower cupboard at the back of the carport is to be taken to the Bin Store at the top of the drive. Please contact the owner if you require any further information.

The open plan living area is fully tiled, with gas central heating and comprises a double bed, wardrobes, a large leather sofa and 32" plasma wall mounted TV with 36 channels. The kitchen is fully fitted with a breakfast bar, electric hob, oven, extractor, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. All cutlery, crockery and utensils are provided. There is also a large leather sofa. The bathroom comprises fully tiled shower room with heated towel rail, wash basin and lavatory. There is also outdoor cupboards with ironing board, an airing rack and deck chairs opposite the front door, under the carport.

Wonderful stay in this apartment, so near to the beach but quiet especially at night. Everything you need in it for a great holiday. Comfy and room enough for a couple even with a baby/small child

How do damage deposits work?

If Shirley (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
