Welcome to Dublin Barge Hire, Dublin City Centre's first self-catering cruising barge.The barge 'Tig Beatha' , a 50 x 10 foot (15 x 3.1m) barge was built in 2004 to a high specification. Its warm inviting interior and its comfortable living space makes this self-catering barge an ideal environment for a holiday break. For real comfort the barge sleeps 2 people. However, 'Tig Beatha' is a four berth barge and is suitable for up to four adults or two adults and two children. So, it is entirely up to you how you want to utilise the space for your holiday. So, why not try something a little less conventional! Experience an unexpectedly tranquil setting in the heart of the city centre by staying on board a special self-catering cruising barge. The unique living space gives something new, exciting and exclusive to your stay in Dublin. Located on the Central Line of the Grand Canal it allows you the opportunity to cruise the canal from Grand Canal Basin in Ringsend to Percy Place. Tig Beatha is located in a prime location in South Dublin City Centre with an array of cafes, restaurants and shops at your disposal. The barge is moored in the marina - a 2 minute walk from Bord Gais Energy Theatre. When in the Marina in the Inner Basin keep an eye out for the playful otters.Your vessel Tig Beatha is a charming wide beam barge. When you step inside you will see a wooden interior comprising of a solid oak floor and veneer wooden walls and ceiling. Why can't I call Trish (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You’ll need to contact Trish (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Trish (the owner) a message.

If Trish (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
