Searching for a comfortable and stress-free stay in Dubrovnik? Stay at the Secret Garden Apartment in the peaceful area of Gruz. We are ideally located for access to the top sights and activities while giving you a spacious, natural environment in which to unwind and relax.

From our location, the internationally-renowned Old Town is easily reached, famous for its unique walls and historical sights but also boasting a range of cultural events, culinary experiences and nightlife for all ages.

There is a bus stop located immediately outside the entrance of the apartment which can transport you to the Old Town (8-10 minutes) or beautiful local beaches. A 5-minute walk brings you to the Gruz port area, where you can catch ferries or take organised tours to the nearby islands – another must for any visitor to Dubrovnik.

As well as the main tourist attractions, the Secret Garden Apartment has many local shops and amenities accessible to you moments from your front door – all of which adds to make your stay as convenient and comfortable as possible.

The apartment is minimally yet tastefully decorated and furnished. Inside is a fully equipped kitchen with all modern appliances including an oven, microwave, refrigerator, kettle, toaster and washing machine. There is a dining area with a table and chairs. The apartment has one comfortable double bedroom that features a large flat screen TV with satellite reception, air conditioning and ample storage. There is also an additional sofa that converts into a comfortable single bed if needed. The bathroom has a modern shower cubicle, basin and WC. We also provide towels, free toiletries, a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board. There is a free Wi-Fi Internet connection throughout the accommodation.

The apartment is surrounded by a beautiful Mediterranean style garden with a terrace, where you can enjoy the summer evenings sitting around the provided table.

Thank you Arnaud and Lisa for taking the time to write us a comment. You stated that our services are overpriced and yet we do not know exactly what you are referring to here since we provided you all the additional services free of charge. Upon your wish we organised transport from the airport and back at half price (we paid the difference personally wanting to give you a discount as a thank you for choosing our apartment for your holiday). Then, the day before your arrival itself you asked us for a bouquet of flowers, champagne and chocolates to be waiting for you in the apartment, which under pressure we managed to do in time on the day of your arrival. During your stay in the apartment we left fruit from the garden, chocolates and a new bouquet of flowers for you as our gift. In this way, we wanted to make your stay as pleasant as possible. On the day of your departure you contacted us because of a problem with the airline company that meant you had to go as soon as possible to the airport, and not at the agreed time, within the deadline of 15-20 minutes, and so we contacted the driver immediately. The driver was not able to get to you in such a short time and so we organised the drive with another driver. When after 20 minutes, we informed you that the driver had arrived you were not even close to being packed nor ready to leave, which was very strange. We warned you to hurry up and that the driver would wait for you. Upon leaving you just returned the keys without saying goodbye. Regarding the apartment, you left it in an extremely messy state. The floor was covered with scattered things: bed linen, towels, toilet paper, clothes hangers, the TV control, plastic bottles and glasses, plastic bags etc. The kitchen was also messy and full of dirty dishes and bottles. This kind of behaviour is not respectable. In connection with your forgotten thing you finally contacted us 15 days after leaving, which was too late to check our waste. After telling you by email that unfortunately we no longer have the thing that you may have forgotten in the apartment, you accused us in a very impolite way as though we are guilty of the resulting situation. We hope that future owners of the apartment will have a better experience with you as guests. We wish you all the best, Matea

Why can't I call Matea (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Matea (the owner) a message.

If Matea (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
