The village of Senesse is small and quiet, with a friendly atmosphere. The house is on the edge of the village and overlooks a valley with wooded hills beyond. A large decking terrace (27sqm), facing south, is shaded by a grapevine and offers a totally private space for relaxation. Walkers and hikers will enjoy the many paths crisscrossing the area, and affording wonderful views of the snow capped Pyrenees to the south.
The house, originally a barn and baking house, is built of stone masonry.
The ground floor, which was originally restored as an artist's studio, is quite spacious (70 sqm) and includes a sitting area and an open plan kitchen/dining area.
6 km away is the historic town of Mirepoix, with a very well preserved arcaded central square. Activities include a busy weekly market, and many musical events throughout the season. Leran and Lac de Montbel are 10 km away and have a horse riding centre, and a beach as well as dinghy sailing. The medieval city of Carcassonne is 45 km away to the north east.
