This updated and elegant condo is situated at High Point in Tamarron Resort just 17 miles North of Durango and is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides. It is ideal as an active vacation headquarters for 1-2 couples or as an incredible location for honeymooners. Kids are welcome and games and toys are provided for quiet evenings before the fire. The kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel full-sized appliances and is fully appointed, including a new Keurig coffee maker. The living area features a high end leather sofa from Bassett, wood flooring, and a 6 x 17 square ft deck overlooking gorgeous mountain vistas. A large mastersuite has a new king-sized therapedic mattress and a washer/dryer unit in the closet. Blow dryers are provided in each bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen sofa bed which is new as of 2019. There is also a Serta queen-sized air mattress with a pump mechanism that prevents air leakage during the night, ideal for kids. This can be placed near the fireplace. We provide soap, shampoo, crème rinse, and lotion as well as clean linens.

If winter is your season, a free shuttle will transport you to Purgatory Ski Resort in 10 minutes. There is also nordic skiing, dog sledding, snowcat skiing and snowmobiling.

The warmer seasons afford an abundance of attractions including the Durango-Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad with a stop very close to the condo, hiking, biking, fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, kayaking, canoing, and many others. The Music in The Mountains festival provides concerts throughout the area during the Summer.

Fall is an overlooked season at Tamarron, and that's too bad, because the colors are stupendous and the weather is mild. Catch the colors on the ride of the Ouray, or take a late season hike before the snow falls.

Tamarron Resort has been recently renovated and offers an indoor pool, outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. The new fitness center is amazing with about any equipment you could want, including TRX and kettlebells. Classes are offered almost daily. There is also an outdoor play area for kids. Tamarron is also a gateway to the San Juan mountains and near two lakes, Havilland Lake and Electra Lake. The small city of Durango boasts more restaurants per capita than San Francisco and is home to Fort lewis College. It can't be beat for its openness and charm. Please see my links for more information on these attractions.

This guest wanted a full refund on account of a fire that had threatened the Durango area in June. The fire was controlled in July and the resort and forest were open by the time of his stay. He simply didn't want to come due to residual smoke in the area. It is important to note that I gave full refunds to all of my June visitors, and that none of my other July guests cancelled. His booking was actually after another guest who had kept her reservation. He wanted a refund because of smoke. My contract clearly states that no refunds will be issued at the last moment, and that "acts of God" are not reasons for refunds. Even though my contract states this language, I did refund everyone in June. I do not think this man's rating is at all reasonable. He never even came to my condo, so how can he rate it? He is just expressing sour grapes that his vacation was ruined by a situation no one could foresee. At some point, when most reasonable people would deem the risk low, every owner is going to resume normal business. He agreed to the contract when he booked. He shouldn't be leaving a crappy rating when he knew exactly what the terms were, and chose to not avail himself of the opportunity to recreate at Tamarron. No other July guest has complained.

How do damage deposits work?
