Lion's Gate Getaway sits high on the hill overlooking Red Hook harbor and has a spectacular 270 degree view of St. John and Tortola. In a few minutes you can walk into Red Hook for shopping, dinner, drinks and night life or catch a ferry to the other islands.

My husband Chris and I have lived on St. Thomas for 20 years. Chris came to dive and I to sail. We met and found we both have a love of the water and the Caribbean life style. Chris built this house on top of a hill and now we have expanded it to give our guests a private tropical setting that is perfect for a romantic getaway. When you wake up in the morning the hummingbirds will greet you and share your view. The porch captures the Caribbean life style with it's cool breezes and view of the sea and did I mention the birds?.

From the apartment you can be on the docks in minutes to rent a power boat, go sailing or if you are a shopper you can be in Charlotte Amalie in 30 minutes for some serious shopping and site seeing.

We live on the property and can give you restaurant tips and help you find the best beaches and places to visit.

Lion's Gate is fully air-conditioned with a full kitchen, granite counter tops coffee maker, toaster, full refrigerator, and stove. Best of all is the huge stone shower that lets you know you are in paradise.

Thank you for letting me know about Louie. I do appologize for his behavior. Now that I know we are installing a gate to keep him away. We are above Red Hook which is convenient for restaurants and shopping but with a town there is some noise and there isn't much I can do about that. Due to the elevation of the apartment no one can see inside, I sorry that you didn't know that. But with that I am installing a shade on the door.. Thank you for letting me know. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Maxine (the owner) a message.

If Maxine (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
