A warm welcome awaits you in this recently converted high quality cow byre and hayloft. This 4 star, Gold Award, superb cottage is situated on our working farm and is set in the heart of beautiful Teesdale. It sleeps 4 in two high standard en-suite bedrooms (and a possible further 2 on a double sofa bed in the lounge area. Also1 'put up' bed also available on request - a charge may apply for extra guests). The cottage features oak and wood beams throughout and has all the facilities required for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Downstairs is open plan with a modern kitchen. dining area and a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and washbasin. Sit in the lounge by the woodburning stove and enjoy the magnificent views across the Teesdale valley, through the south facing patio doors. There is a TV/DVD with Freesat, also a CD/Radio/iPod docking station. Maybe you would enjoy a BBQ on the sunny terrace or eat out at the many, excellent local pubs and restaurants nearby! Toby Hill is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is centrally situated to visit the wonderful attractions nearby, such as The Bowes Museum, Raby Castle, Barnard Castle, Killhope Wheel, Beamish Museum, Durham City or cycling in Hamsterley Forest, to name but a few. There are numerous circular walks from our doorstep, the Teesdale passes nearby or you may like to follow the Pennine Way beside the River Tees as it thunders over High Force Waterfall. Fishing is available nearby on purchase of a permit.There is an outside utility and boot/drying room and a lockable store if needed. Wi- fi now available. Welcome basket and plate of goodies provided to welcome your arrival!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Sheila (the owner) a message.

If Sheila (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
