Casa Bonita is a new, spacious riverfront villa in El Salvador's gated beach community of El Tunco. The house features three air-conditioned bedrooms on the second and third floors, including a brand-new master suite, an open air, woven roofed living space, full outdoor kitchen, patio, and private pool. The house is close to the wonderful delights of El Tunco's beachfront - restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and a concert hall - while being secluded enough to offer a pleasant night's sleep. Guests may feel free to enjoy the fruits from our on-site mango, banana, coconut, and papaya trees for breakfast. We connect our guests with trusted local agencies for airport pickup, surf tour, waterfall tours, and volcano tours to ensure that you experience the best that El Salvador has to offer. Bienvenidos!

Access

Casa Bonita partners with a local, trusted tourist agency to provide airport pick-up and drop off, surf lessons for beginners, surf tours for intermediate/expert surfers, as well as volcano, waterfall, and old-town tours. If interested please inquire in your contact message so that we can help you plan your dream vacation.

Interaction with Guests

The house has a bilingual manager to clean up and answer any questions that you may have about the community. Interaction will be completely to the guests' preference, although the manager has lived in El Tunco for 5 years and her recommendations will help you to have the best experience possible. If you decide to experience El Salvador through our guided tours you or your group will receive a personal guide who is fluent in English and Spanish, and is familiar with all of the different ecological attractions and wave breaks along the coast.

The Neighborhood

El Tunco is fun, safe (gated and guarded), and beautiful. The people are extremely open and friendly, often going out of their way to invite and host you at evening events. The community is close to both the airport and San Salvador, thirty minutes from each, and the beaches - 2 within 200 yards of Casa Bonita- offer great surf all year around. From beginners to experts, the beaches of El Tunco will keep you entertained and, if you like, push your surfing to the next level. Lifestyle pleasures like yoga, beach concerts, and my personal favorite, fresh juice bars, complete this idyllic community on El Salvador's Pacific coast.

Getting Around

El Tunco provides comfortable, convenient travel by air-conditioned bus to San Salvador, Antigua, Lagos, Nosara, Managua, and Nosara. Taxis are safe and affordable, although our personal pick up service (with board racks!) offers better value your money. For surfers wanting to try other breaks, our guided surf tours - along with tours to the waterfalls, volcano, and old town San Salvador - help you to experience the best that El Salvador has to offer! Everywhere in El Tunco is within an 8 minute walk, and the community is both gated and guarded by municipal security officers and the national guard. The ability to safely walk to any part of the town at any time of day or night is a fantastic part of the experience here in El Tunco.

Other Things to Note

Many regional travelers are worried about the potential for criminal violence. While the security situation in El Salvador on the whole is not great, the beach communities are very safe. Municipal and National guards monitor the community all night long, and El Tunco is surrounded by a security wall. The road from the airport to El Tunco is also safe, and our airport pick-up service helps to minimize any potential risks (although the taxis are quite safe!). El Salvador relies heavily on tourism, and all sectors of the formal and informal economy have no interest in harming one of the country's greatest economic assets.

House Rules

Guests (and their pets!) are expected to enjoy their stay in El Tunco. The pace of life here is relaxed, and if you are not tired out by a day of surf, sand, and sun, use of the barbecue and refrigerator are encouraged - it's why we have them! Large group parties are discouraged, and we ask that all tenants be respectful towards the housekeeper and workers who help to keep the property neat. Smoking is allowed in the outdoor areas.

Why can't I call Bo (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You’ll need to contact Bo (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Bo (the owner) a message.

If Bo (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
