Leonidas is a rustic, traditional stone-built house, located in Mavrikiano, a small settlement built on the top of a hill, overlooking the Mirabello bay and the seaside village of Elounda. Even though this area lies, practically at the edge of Elounda, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, Mavrikiano village, manages to keep its character of the typical Cretan village and thus visitors can wonderfully combine, the simplicity of village life with the cosmopolitan lifestyle of Elounda. The beach lies just 8min walk away.

The house has been renovated and specially set up for holiday makers, who admire authentic, local architecture! It can accommodate up to 3 adults and a small child.

On entering, there is the sitting area with a fireplace, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen corner.

The sofa at the common area converts to a small child single bed. The bathroom is located past a door on the left.

On the right is the stone staircase to the upper floor. On the mezzanine floor, there is a single bed and a few steps more lead to the master bedroom with a double bed and to the terrace, which is equipped with a summer kitchen, a BBQ and dining area with a big table. Here, you'll comfortably enjoy your breakfast and dinner, while admiring the superb views over the Aegean sea, Elounda and the surrounding mountains.

All rooms are laid out just as they were originally built for a small family, meaning that you must walk trough one space in order to reach the next. Therefore, there are no in-between doors, except for the bathroom, of course.

All materials used for the restoration such as wood and stones, belonged to the original house. The furniture is old and handcrafted by local craftsmen. The staircase, door handles, bath taps, lamps, basins in both kitchens are all original pieces, but the best feature is the stone fireplace typical in old Cretan houses of the 19th century. All everyday-life little items, that the families and people who inhabited the house used, have been restored and are kept right here.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
