These converted stables are nearly 400 years old and now provide accommodation for up to 4 people. The conversion has been tastefully done retaining many of the original features which has created a French Gite type of experience.

The Stables has a beautiful hot tub and patio with dining and seating area alongside, a private enclosed garden all with outstanding views across open farm land to the valley beyond. Guests have exclusive use of the 5 seater hottub which is available all year round at a constant temperature of 38 -40c.
The property consists of one double bedroom with en-suite, one twin bedroom, kitchen/dining area in a light and airy conservatory overlooking the garden with views over open farmland. Access to the bathroom is through the main double bedroom. The second bedroom has an option of one or two single(s), or one large double bed depending on your requirements. .
The south facing conservatory overlooks the secluded patio with hot tub, & fenced garden with panoramic views of open country side towards the Black Mountains. The kitchen and dining area are in here with double doors opening onto the patio and garden where our guests can enjoy a BBQ, al fresco dining, or a quiet drink under the stars. The hot tub is private and is available through out the year. This is an ideal retreat for a peaceful romantic break, or a couple with two children.
The décor is bright and fresh, with seating for up to four people. We provide a selection of books for you to enjoy as well as candles to help you create a romantic atmosphere.
There is satellite TV/Radio, DVD; Wi-fi is freely available. Also provided is a washing machine and drying space; hair dryer, hair straighteners, iron and board; all bedding and towels included so no need to bring your own. Separate towels and dressing gowns are supplied for use in the Hot Tub.
The property is aspected away from the owner's house so our guests have complete privacy; but we are always available to offer advice on places to visit or provide you with something you may have forgotten if you need us. Otherwise we leave you to enjoy the peace and quiet.
We offer a welcome pack on arrival which includes items of your choice; a meal if you request it to be ready when you arrive late having travelled after work; or a meal during your stay if you want a quiet night in and don't feel like cooking. We are here to make your stay as special as possible. Please ask when making your booking. We can also offer special celebration packages: balloons, cakes, cream teas, flowers, photography sessions for guests who want to celebrate in style.
The Forest of Dean is an area of outstanding natural beauty situated between the Rivers Wye and Severn. It has now become a popular location for film and TV crews including Star Wars, Atlantis and Doctor Who, to name but a few.
There are opportunities to take part in activity sports such as canoeing, cycling or walking; visit areas of interest including Symonds Yat and Tintern Abbey or simply relax in some of the pubs and restaurants we recommend. We are happy to send you information on these and other highlights on request.
We welcome pets too, so bring them with you so that you can explore the forest together. There is a small charge for this.
If you want to holiday with friends, try booking one of our other properties; The Granary, (38011) and enjoy some privacy as well as friendship as you explore the area together. The Granary accommodates two people and can be found on this website page. The Granary has been going since 2007 and we have had wonderful reviews and hope that visitors to the Stables will feel equally pleased with their choice. In addition, we have a beautiful centrally heated Shepherd's Hut, The Hut on the Hill, which is situated in a field by itself, complete with Hottub with panoramic views, with a stable which has been converted to provide additional space for 2 guests. This has a large fridge with freezer, washing machine, Belfast sink and space to store bikes, canoes, walking kit etc. There is also centrally heated space for wet dogs to dry off, as well as a drying rack to dry wet kit .
