Stunning apartment by the beach (8 min walk) in the city of Espinho; 20 min to Porto (car or train; I recommend you to go by train as it goes along the coast, so you'll have fantastic views, including a view from the whole city of Porto). In Porto, you can visit the tourist city centre, the Port Wine Caves, go up the river Douro by boat, enjoy the day and nightlife. In Espinho, just relax, go to the beach, walk, play tennis or golf, ride the bike or horses, and flight a plane. There is also an active nightlife for those who enjoy going out for a drink, especially in the Summertime. What a great life you can have here! Close to everything and everywhere without needing to take the car; without the mess of a big city. The apartment is fully equipped (laundry services are provided by an external company outside the building. You can have your clothes washed and dried free of charge for stays longer than 5 days).

Smoking allowed on the terrace. There are smoke detectors indoors.

Normally there are always free places to park the car on the street (no charge). The area is safe; there is no need to worry (Portugal is the 3rd safest country).

You can be asked to grant a deposit for damages of 100€ per grown-up person (paid at check-in; released at checkout).

About the city:

Espinho is a modern city, located 17 km south of Porto, and is a high-level tourist resort that welcomes thousands of national and foreign visitors throughout the year. There are two fundamental reasons for this: firstly, the fact that the city has one of the best climates in Europe. Secondly, the fact of being a competitive area creates tourist attraction and development.

The construction of the city in itself is as well an important factor. The numbering of the streets makes browsing the city extremely simple for any visitor.

One of the pearls of the city is its coastline, one of the most attractive ones in northern Portugal, with a total length of 8 km, awarded with blue flags. These beaches are excellent not only for swimming and sunbathing, but they are also one of the best places in Europe for surfing and bodyboarding.

Espinho is a perfect city to host tourists as it is easily accessible. The railway runs through the city, with direct and regular connections to Porto (only 20 minutes), Lisbon, Coimbra Aveiro, Guimarães, Braga, among many other destinations. The train station is about 8 min walk from the apartment.

For those arriving by car, highways A1 and A29 are just a few kilometres from the city centre. (there is a direct exit from the highways to the city). With over 75 routes to all major European destinations, Porto International Airport is about 1 hour distant by train and about 30 minutes distant by car.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Ricardo (the owner) a message.

If Ricardo (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
