Getting around

You really need a car here but stagecoach does run a bus service through Evie but only about three times a day. We are happy to pick guests up on arrival or take them to the airport or ferry terminal. We can also arrange for taxis or tour guides.

Interaction with guest

We welcome all our guests personally on arrival. It's lovely to meet folk but we tend to let our guests enjoy their holiday in peace but if there is anything, we are on site in the evenings and at weekends and more than happy to respond to queries and requests.

House rules

Full terms and conditions are available on the LowerQuoys website and should be read before confirming a booking with us. In high season we prefer bookings of 7 nights or more starting on a Saturday our typical changeover day but we try to accommodate a few shorter breaks where we can. There are two bedrooms. A twin and a spacious kingsize room. We will permit an extra family member sharing the kingsized room on an inflatable bed or a tot in a travel cot.

“Cosy cottage in a great location”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2018

My two children and I loved staying in this beautiful cottage. There is everything you could need and the location is perfect for driving or walking from . It was a lovely place to return to after a long windswept walk. The owners are friendly and on hand should you need anything . There were baby lambs in the field next to the cottage , lots of birds and even a hare hopped past one morning . We would love to return .

Thank you for a lovely review. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Loved reading the children's comments in the visitors book and for leaving the house so clean and tidy. It was as if no-one had been it! We hope to see you again at some point in the future.

“Lovely house, great holiday”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2017

Cannot recommend highly enough. The house was immaculate, comfortable and had everything you could need. Comprehensive welcome pack left by friendly owners. Good location for visiting Historic Scotland sites. Watch for the hares in the garden - magical! A holiday to remember.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Glad you enjoyed your stay in Orkney and the house provided you with a good base frromm which to explore. The hares have me captivated and since lotties sad passing in May these are also joined now by many more rabbits who seem happy for you to get quite close. Hope your back in Orkney again sometime. Thank you.
