The apartment is perfect for those looking for a peaceful break, and is equipped to cater for all your needs, leaving you to enjoy the simplicity and beauty of the Dordogne and surrounding area.
The apartment has its own entrance, and is very light, modern and most importantly very quiet. It provides comfortable accommodation for 2 people, in an open plan studio style, with separate shower room. The kitchen is well-equipped, along with a breakfast island and 2 stools. There is a double bed, wardrobe and bedside cabinets. You have access to our WIFI, and we also have a small selection of English books and board games available for you. The room has standard French electric sockets, but we can supply an adapter should you have need.
Outside the apartment you have a pleasant private terrace with patio table and chairs, where you can enjoy a meal or quiet drink while gazing up to the beautiful hill village of Soumensac, which provides the backdrop to some stunning sunsets. Sun loungers are provided should you wish to relax in the sun.
The bastide village of Eymet is 2-minute drive, or a pleasant, albeit hilly, 15-minute walk. The village, Chateau and square are steeped in history; the hundred years war, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Henry II plus so much more. Here you will find numerous Restaurants to suit any taste or budget, and some lively café style bars to enjoy a tipple, all located in a fantastically original historical setting. During the summer months the village hosts its famous night market, with foods, wines and artisan sellers. Thursday morning is market day, which provides a traditional French market experience, and has happened every week for over 700 years. Buy your artisan bread, locally produced foods or sit outside one of the cafes to watch the world go by.
Just 800m from the apartment you have the beautiful Lac de l’escarrou, the largest in the local region, where you can enjoy fishing, cycling, walking, running or just sit, relax and have a picnic.
We are in the heart of wine country with numerous local vendors or Chateau wine tours to enjoy. Beautiful St Emillion is just a 40-minute drive away. A trip not to be missed if you love your wine.
Although we are only a short distance to Eymet, we feel a car is essential to take advantage and fully explore and visit other villages. We are approximately 30-minute drive from Bergerac Airport, and 1hr15mins from Bordeaux.
