Heron Cottage is our family's home from home. 4 generations have so far enjoyed holidays and extended stays in this delightful cottage overlooking Restronguet Creek. Whilst you will find all the necessary amenities, don't expect high tech, modernist luxury but rather a clean, practical, homely comfort in which to relax and enjoy all this very special location has to offer.To reach the cottage, cross Weir Beach and carry on 100 yards up the lane which runs along the west bank of Restronguet Creek. Heron is the second of a pair of white cottages on your left looking out across the water.The front door, set back slightly from the lane, opens onto a dining area with kitchen beyond. A cosy sitting room features an open fire and large bay window looking across the creek. The family bathroom is also on the ground floor and a back door provides access to the terraced garden and meadow beyond.Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms to sleep 6 comfortably. The main double bedroom features a large bay window with a beautiful view directly onto the creek. Wake up to a true Cornish creek vista and during the day sit and watch the comings and goings on the water and ever-changing scene up and down the creek and across the Carrick Roads to St Just and the Roseland Peninsula. A smaller twin room is also to the front. A large, bright, double aspect twin room to the rear provides views of the creek and the garden.There is private parking for two cars but be aware that access across the beach is limited either side of high tides. We keep a tide table beside the front door and a rough guide to when the beach is passable. When required there is parking in the lane the other side of the beach.In such a location there is no need to venture far away. Relax or potter on the shingle beach or explore the rock pools. Wind surf, kayak, sail, row, motor, paddle board or simply swim in Restronguet Creek, the Carrick Roads or further out to sea.A mere 7 minutes walk along the magic creekside path and you are at the world famous Pandora Inn. A 13th century thatched pub on the waterside serving excellent food. The village of Mylor Bridge has a local grocer's, newsagent and the Lemon Arms. A traditional village pub also serving excellent food. Mylor harbour is a busy marina. Charter a yacht, rent a motor boat by the hour or learn to sail. The bustling old town of Falmouth with its working port is only 15 minutes away by car. Or take the water taxi. Restaurants, shops and pubs abound and there is plenty to do whatever the weather. The National Maritime Museum, art galleries, parks and gardens, sandy beaches, Ships and Castles water centre and Henry VIII's castle on Pendennis Point.

Why can't I call Roger/Marian (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I view and manage my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to view all your booking details, pay the balance of your holiday or cancel it if you need to.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

We’ll automatically charge the balance payment to the same payment method 10 days before it’s due. Go to Manage my holiday booking to see when the payment will be taken.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Roger/Marian (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Roger/Marian (the owner) a message.

If Roger/Marian (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
