Welcome to Beach Villa Tanzania, our tropical paradise! Our newly renovated property is situated on a 2 acre beach plot facing the Indian Ocean (private property). Ushongo Bay is touristically largely undeveloped idyllic beach (unlike nearby Kenyan coast) Tropical garden dominated by coconut palm trees.

Main house sleeps 5 persons in two large self-contained suites (bedroom plus bathrooms, dressing room). 2 double beds plus 1 large single bed. The separate guest cottage has one bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom, a kitchen and a terrace.

The spacious and airy house sits on an elevated platform and offers great views on the Indian Ocean. The house has been completed in June 2007. Solid stone houses built with local materials (Makuti thatched roof, hardwood/ boatwood furniture & natural stone floors).

It offers comfort and all modern amenities. Private maid is provided. Daily flights to Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar or Arusha (Safari Airlink, Coastal Air, Air Tanzania), speed boat to Zanzibar or taxi. Check out our website (see below).

Why Ushongo Tanzania?: Tanzania is a great alternative to the Southern coast of Kenya and Zanzibar: no mass tourism (no package tours, no big beach hotels), our beach house is in front row with direct access, no beach prostitution, no hawkers or other nuisance.

Unlike many beaches in Zanzibar Ushongo bay is a swimmers paradise. You and your children can swim in the sea the whole year. There are no dangerously high waves and there is no pollution.

Ideally you could combine your beach holiday with a safari in North Tanzania. We can establish contact to reliable companies offering good value for money. We speak English! On parle Francais!

Our house is a solid stone house built with local materials ranging from Makuti thatched roof to hardwood and natural stone floors. Only for the bathrooms and for electricity we have used imported tiles and fittings. The house is spacious and airy (total size 150 m2, 6 metres high ceilings. The furniture are made of Eucalyptus and Mninga wood. Some furniture are made of defunct boats.

The house has a large terrace facing the ocean which offers shade throughout the whole day with seating for 16 persons. The house has 2 self-contained bedrooms, each one with a large bathroom. Each of the rooms has one 2x2 metre double bed plus a single bed. The two bedrooms are connecting to a living room and a kitchen separated by a bar. There is also a rear terrace, ideal for sundowners watching the sun set. The two kitchens are fully equipped with 2 fridges, one freezer, 2 gas stoves, plates and cooking utensils for serious cuisine for larger groups.

Our house is located 16 km south of Pangani town, on Tanzania’s northern mainland coast. The easiest way of getting to our house is by flight either from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar or Arusha . The next airfield Pangani machado is 20 minutes away from our house. There are daily flights by Coastal Aviation as well as by Safari Airlink and others on request. Considering that there are no supermarkets in Ushongo it is advisable to either do shopping and then take a taxi for going to Ushongo (approx. 6 hours, 400 USD one way) and book a flight for the return (approx. 150 USD per person one way, ). Alternatively you can book a return flight and send our taxi driver for shopping.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Busso (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
