The Forge, Flempton is located in the beautiful Lark Valley, situated very close to Thetford Forest (within easy walking distance) superb for walks, hiking and cycling. The West Stow Anglo Saxon Village is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute drive away, as is the beautiful Fullers Mill Garden. The historic town of Bury St Edmunds is just 4 miles away and provides a superb array of restaurants and places to visit.

The Forge has just about everything you could need, making it an excellent place to stay whilst looking for a job, working on short term contracts or a place to buy in the future. House keeping can be organised so you do not even need to worry about the cleaning or the washing. The only thing you need to bring is your food and drink. The kitchen is fully fitted with an array of cooking tools should you want to stay in. The garden is very quiet with wooden steamers where you can put your feet up and enjoy the sunshine and in the evening you can make use of the gas BBQ and listen to the bird song. There is also a very secure bike storage device which can hold up to 3 bikes.

Of course, if you would rather see a little more action, then a 10 minute drive gets you to the centre of the historic city of Bury St Edmunds, full of wonderful places to visit including the cathedral and the Abbey Gardens. The town also offers a wealth of great restaurants for those who wish to eat out, whilst having all the large supermarkets on the towns outskirts for those wishing to eat in.

The town has a theatre, the Apex - which holds regular bands and events. The are numerous pubs, including the smallest in Britain - The Nutshell. There are also a number of great village pubs are close at hand.

Basic consumables such as tea, coffee, sugar will be in the property. The property has been equipped so you can choose to eat out or cook in, most normal kitchen equipment is provided. There is also a Krups POD machine for hots drinks, a starter pack has been left for you. Hot water will be on, as will the heating. The property is available on minimum 5 night stay, no dogs and smoking is not permitted inside of the building. If you are staying for a longer let, more than 2 weeks, we do like to organise a weekly change of bedding and towels, which is included in the price. If you are staying for a month or more we organise a clean every 2 weeks again included in the price, however if you wish for additional cleaning this is chargeable.

The Forge is completely self contained with a modern fully fitted kitchen, shower room, double bedroom and living area created around the Forge hearth. The Forge has off road gated parking suitable for two vehicles with a private patio and garden at the rear. The property has central heating but for those romantic winter evenings there is a small wood burner. There is free fibre wifi network facilities and television operated by An Amazon Fire Stick so if you Netflix, Amazon Prime or TV license you can sign in and watch your favourite programmes. There is also large number of DVD's for the winter evenings.

You are in complete control at the Forge. Keys are collected from a secure key box at the property. Everything will be ready for you, hot water on and heating set at a constant 17 unless it is the height of the summer. If you do have any problems during your stay please do contact me, however Anita, who lives close by will also be on hand to help. Her number along with lots of other information is on a leaflet in the Forge. Your immediate neighbours at Forge Cottage are also tenants. We are very hands off and respect your privacy whilst enjoying the Forge experience.

Why can't I call Jules (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jules (the owner) a message.

If Jules (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
