Stone, iron and wood; these are the materials used by my grandparents to build on the foundations of a medieval monastery, the farmhouse San Lorenzo, built on top of a hill overlooking the city of Foligno.
The building was completely renovated in the year 2015 using original materials (bricks and tiles antique terracotta, wooden beams, local pottery handmade by the masters of Deruta). The house consists of two fully furnished apartments in country style also using antique furniture. Each house consists of the ground floor of a living room with sofa bed, kitchenette, fireplace and bathroom while the second floor are located one double bedroom, a bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with shower. Each room has a TV LED. At 50 meters from the villa has its own pool shared with the other guests
The tranquility and beauty of the Umbrian hills combine perfectly with the ability to easily access the main attractions of the area; not far indeed are the main historical centers of the characteristic Umbrian villages to visit: Foligno (3km), Trevi (15km), Spoleto (22km), Spello (10km), Bevagna (12km), Assisi (20km), Perugia (40km ).
At about 3 km there is the village of Pale, from which you can leave for an interesting excursion on the nearby mountain to reach an ancient hermitage carved into the rock.
Finally, frequent folklore and food and wine events in the area; between the main regulations are the Quintana of Foligno in July and September (historical re-enactment of the carousel in costumes of the '500), the Gaite Bevagna in late June (historical re-enactment of the crafts and medieval market), the "first of Italy" in Foligno at the end of September (a nationally important gastronomic event), Eurochocolate in Perugia in late October, "open mills" in the main countries in the area during the month of November on the occasion of the olive harvest, the international Festival of two worlds in Spoleto from end of June to the first week of July, the famous "flowered" Spello on the Sunday of Corpus Christi.
The cottage is 100 meters from the mill from which you can taste the excellent organic olive oil produced by local growers
