Not a fan of the oft-expected, doily-driven B&B experience? Neither are we. Starry’s Studio presents a sophisticated oasis perfectly positioned just off Fredericksburg’s famed Main Street. Clean lines, luxury linens, modern furnishings, custom architectural details and an ever-evolving collection of gallery-worthy works from local artists offer guests a romantically refined hideaway in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Most art and artisanal pieces on display at any given time at Starry’s Studio are available for sale.

Starry’s Studio is nestled behind a historic home on East Creek Street, one of Fredericksburg’s beautiful wide, tree-lined thoroughfares just off Main Street in what was once referred to as the town’s “Garden District.” The property’s main home was built in 1906 with an addition and connecting breezeway completed in 1951. The same year, home owner Walter Hayden (Ossie) Osbourn (No, not that Ozzy Osbourne.) built a separate structure behind the home for a workshop and smokehouse where he tanned leather, made furniture, smoked meats from his family’s ranch, and made homemade wines from mustang grapes, agarita berries and local peaches. Ossie’s daughter Melissa (Osbourn) Starry grew up in the house, and, after living in Austin and Houston for nineteen years, she took over the property in 1989 and moved back to Fredericksburg with her husband Ron Starry to raise their young daughter Sarah in this idyllic small town. That year, Ossie’s old workshop underwent its first major renovation when it became stylist and photographer Melissa’s hair salon and dark room. Melissa named her salon, Starry’s Studio, which was a popular local business for over a decade, welcoming such esteemed clients as Lady Bird Johnson. In 2000, the space was converted to Melissa’s art studio where she honed the painting and mixed media talent for which she has since won local notoriety and awards. In 2015 another big renovation began and today, one hundred and ten years after the original home was built, Melissa and Ron Starry are thrilled to welcome visitors to the newest iteration of Starry’s Studio, a luxury guest house in the heart of Fredericksburg.

Totally unique and very impressive

How do damage deposits work?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Starry's (the owner) a message.

If Starry's (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
